Wtf is going on here?
No one is forcing you to be in the union. You are also free to negotiate your own terms. All you have to do is tell the company you reject the CWU as your spokesperson under collective bargaining and have at it. It’s called working under protest. Best of luck.

https://workingfamilies.org.uk/articles ... e%20change.
Im with valentina,we cant all be wrong, the whole top of the union is one big sh----ow,we need a massive clearout,Ward and co need to resign and new elections,if they have an ounce of dignity or respect they need to walk away,as i said if my details have been leaked my claim goes in.
The same goes to you then. Im sure you could do better. Please return once you have negotiated a better settlement and share the details. Best of luck.
You sure you are not dave ward in disguise thats the type of reply id expect from him,you dont fool anyone, that deflected gaslighting comment fools no one,you have read all the forums online haven't you there are lots out there and they all slate the CWU,have a look on Reddit its not nice reading for a union who are suppose to protect its workers, lets be honest the guys not in the union are no worse off than the ones in at my office , in fact they have better duties ,get days off when they want and fewer are on stages than ones in the union of course that's managers discretion lol.Anyway im still here as they say and first sniff of failure to secure my data the claim goes in.
Ah yes. All those non union members with the same Terms, conditions and protections as union members. I wonder who won them that.
HMMMM yes those poor terms and conditions, and you forgot the special terms with bosses for non union members.
I didn't forget that part. I just ignored it. As the rubbish it is. I suppose I cant talk for your office but the 2 non members in our place are treated the same. To be treated different would be unlawful. If your manager is found to be treating union members unfavourably they could be in for big trouble. They would be committing trade union detriment. Not that I would expect management to have a clue about any of that.

Your naivety is adoring but you do know royal mail bosses truly dont give a f--k about the union anymore ,they are not afraid of parliament let alone the workers or union bosses they dont even care about the regulator or the courts, basically they can do what they want and they do in my office.

Ironic that with a response like that I’m the one being called naive. Royal Mail has been fined by the regulator. Royal Mail has been made to pay and reinstate the reps they suspended. They aren’t above the law and I can guarantee if managers were found to be treating people unfavourably because of their union membership a court would rule against them. Those managers would be chucked straight under the bus.

Sadly they are and are still on the bus ,the fines are nothing and a calculated cost they made more money by not adhering to the USO wake up to what is going on,as for the reps they still managed to get rid of a considerable lot, this is what big corporate companies do they make you think your winning but in reality your not.

The vast majority returned to work. Those that didn't had already moved on and were happy with their pay offs. None of which would have happened without the hard work and persistence of the union.

Again, I can't speak for your office. If I was the rep there and was witnessing this I would be building the case with my area reps/branch. It would be such an easy win.

As i said in reality the union have lost the fight and dressing room,i doubt you'll see any decent payrises or strikes in the next couple of decades ,Ward and co have done so much damage, the members were ready to fight and they fed us to the wolves ,nothing you or any union rep can say will change my mind,i wish they would update us on the security breach .

Why do all these posters just lazily quote the last 10 or 20 posts now, just to try and prove a point?

We'll soon see the union's master plan leaked onto the dark web. I can't wait because I'd love to know what it is.

So what do you want to know?

Just beware of unsolicited phone calls, emails etc. Looking at the downloadable joining form the union have on the website,
it looks like they would have name, address, payroll number, DOB, NI number, address, phone, email, so all details which
could be used in an attempt to scam any of us.

Pretty damn poor IT security for a communications organisation.

For a Union that receives millions of income from our weekly subs (nearly £30 million y/e 2022), its p*ss poor that they can't afford something like Norton Anti-Virus which costs me just £30 to renew....
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I think people are being overly harsh here. Government organisations, NHS and a raft of major businesses have fallen VICTIM to this sort of thing. Royal Mail themselves last year.

Only a couple of years ago the CWU were asking members to use a claims company that they were in partnership with to make claims,no doubt getting a % themselves👀….how can they now ask members not to claim because the claim be against them?
