I am....but I only started in November 2021 and I'm 55!!Mr Rush wrote: ↑17 Feb 2023, 16:28As expected, here they come for the whole idea of having a duty. When you start as a reserve you look forward to the day you can land a duty of your own - why bother putting in the decades now? Trick question. No-one starting now is under the illusion they're going to make it to retirement doing this job.

They don't even explain why it's better. I can't even work out how this makes things more efficient.
Why would it be better to merge the whole unit into one massive frame? if anything it sounds like it would make things less efficient....
- You'd have different posties going to different areas on different days. No regular postie that knows how certain customers like mail/parcels to be delivered. More likely people make mistakes.
- A new block of 50 flats gets built.... good luck shuffling everything on that frame along.
- You don't need to merge the whole unit into 1 frame to give people lapsing closer to their round. It's very simple - the lapsing round should be in the middle of all the other rounds and those rounds should finish next to the lapsing round. As someone said - not rocket science - you just need an IQ of 10 to work that one out.

I'm guessing postie No 1, 2 etc stick more or less to their usual rounds but by the time you get past the middle of the horseshoe they could be shuffling along one way or the other depending on whether it's a quiet or busy day. How does prepping work as on Monday you could have a large section by mid week a small section to prep,
I don't understand what happens if it's an unplanned particularly quiet or busy day, do they send postie's home/not call them in if it's quiet and call more posties in if it's busy??

So if there is only one frame that must mean it is classed as one job, and so the managers only ever have to say that there is just a partial fail on the one job.

This was 100% NOT a staff idea , several posties in frame asked for their faces to be blurred as they did not want anything to do with the filming. It took over an hour to convince the real postman to speak ,They were desperate to get somebody in a posties outfit on film I saw him with multiple managers around him apperentlypersisting in trying to get him to speak. He spoke after the staff went out I believe and he has been involved in the planning from the start.
At present the sum total of a months work is to line the frames per postcode flat in a horseshoe , no resourcing to workload and the posties are nearly all prepping and delivering what was their walks before the change ,no resourcing to workload.
Before they could get a postie to speak they had used 2 agency workers to film interviews with ,who I presume explained in detail what a vast improvement this revision made over all previous ones

Jeez RM is an odd business, wasnt there a manager posting pics on that Facebook thing saying everything was clear and using a 2 year old pic? Why the lies?zipmeister wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 14:28This was 100% NOT a staff idea , several posties in frame asked for their faces to be blurred as they did not want anything to do with the filming. Surely there must be some senior manager or even board member thinking WTF!!?pieoftheday wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 14:48Jeez RM is an odd business, wasnt there a manager posting pics on that Facebook thing saying everything was clear and using a 2 year old pic? This is the only reason that makes sense as to why they have done it. They are probably claiming it's 1 job.IAMNOTANUMBER wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 13:07So if there is only one frame that must mean it is classed as one job, and so the managers only ever have to say that there is just a partial fail on the one job.
Ofcom don't give a cr@p anyway, look at the service that is being provided these days by Royal Mail.....where are Ofcom?
We have a purposely understaffed office which is purposely delaying huge numbers of walks daily.

Looks like the sort of nonsense that will probably work in a small office, and only then on a fairly uniform estate. You couldn't do rurals, bulks, or anything vaguely complicated.
Its also totally reliant on knowledgeable, and fair-minded management to properly implement it which simply isn't going to happen.
Reminds me of the old and very short-lived Starburst system which was wide open not just to managerial cock-ups but to absolute piss-taking from anyone who fancied being idle and letting their mates do all the work, or everyone spending all day waiting for the slowest guy to finish.
As many people have mentioned recently someone seems very dtermined to make a simple job very difficult.

As a post script, it does seem like the sort of system which could work really well if you have an office full of eager agency staff ready for unscrupulous managers to take the piss out of.Send some home if its quiet, make them stay out if its busy.
I'm thats not why they seem so keen though...

Without constantly interfering and tinkering with tried and true ways of working, how will some people justify their existence? As for World Class Mail: that was a fantastic success! Someone retained their place on the payroll for doing whatever that nonsense entailed. Horseshoe theory will surely turn us into a dynamic, paradigm-shifting business.TheCommieChef wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:13As many people have mentioned recently someone seems very dtermined to make a simple job very difficult.

Starburst too.......consignia.......the list goes on.Trumanity wrote: ↑17 Feb 2023, 16:47World Class Mail. Designed for Honda factories. Big Fail for RM.rambo1 wrote: ↑17 Feb 2023, 14:33It's so frustrating for us long timers when management who don't have a clue, come up with ideas that clearly to anyone who does the job, will not work for the best of the company. There's a reason most posties phrase of choice is 'its not rocket science '. It's because it isn't! Remember that Japanese s**t that the company wasted millions on ten yrs ago?
