What happens when you get audited then ? We got audited last year and they found loads of log book 'gaps'. The managers got a bollocking for it and have been pretty keen about checks and stuff since then.

We had a guy come in from another office on a transfer,the office that sent him over forgot to say that he was'nt a driver and our lot did'nt check,he was sent out in a high top on a delivery while he was out he had a prang bought the van back and just parked it up never said anything,the next morning the guy that normally has the van went and got it never even noticed that the van had alot of the top of the van missing it was on the floor of the van when he went back to the office and said it was damaged when they come and had a look the gov went mad it turns out they wanted to disipline the guy but could'nt because they had not even checked to see if he was a driver and he had'nt had any change over or training,made us laugh,first time i'd seen a manager cry because he could'nt get that black stick out!
Our DOM hasn't actually looked at licences for a few years but all the 'paperwork' appears to be up to date.
Having said that pretty much any actual checks he should be doing are all an act of fiction anyway.
Because our office pretty much runs itself he still hasn't been found out.
Sometimes some of us wish that he would get found out but let's face it better the devil you know.

I cover all duties, rurals, towns or firms in our office, so drive regularly. I also do collection SAs in the afternoons. I've never been personally asked to show my DOM my driving license, and I even told him I was banned from driving once for a laugh. Not sure how we just got 95% on a health & safety and security audit..

Not so. The audit is done by the H&S people. Completely independant from RM. It's a serious business. The log book gaps dont sound like much but it meant that the OMV maintenance schedules were out. We were driving around in. potentially, unsafe vehicles.
Our DOM was told that if the same situation was there at the next audit, he could be facing a criminal charge. Naturally, he came down heavy on the liney's and they came down heavy on us.
One things for sure. There's no consistency across the system. Some offices are careful about this, some are not.
