Totally stupid decision by RM and it serves little purpose or benefit to anyone. I won't be getting signatures and will find a workaround as the day goes on.
RM can take whatever action against me that they feel like. They tell us often enough that we are responsible for our own H&S on delivery so that is what I will be doing.
Had enough s**t from the company and their attitude towards me on delivery for the last two years.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.
Don't know what 'xp1' is but I'll continue using 'c19'.
The instruction to sign as "CV19" was changed to "XP1" after a few weeks. The fact that many offices/posties don't seem to have been told this shows how badly managed the whole thing has been. That is not meant as a criticism of you.

I have been using cv19 all the way through and as we stopped having WTL years ago I am not surprised .
Just found out about getting signitures from this site as nobody tells us anything
I think that if RM do start conduct coding people will boil down to how many complaints they get about actual signatures not being obtained
Or how many posting person go off sick with omnibolox. Oh yeah I forgot you can carry on working with it now anyway can’t you?
Don't forget that covid now counts towards stages so there's probably a high chance that someone won't go sick if it'll leave them on a stage.
With free test kits having ended, do you really believe that many people will bother getting tested. You're probably at a much higher risk of catching covid in the DO than out on delivery

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

How would this work if you went off before Monday the 28th with confirmed covid and returned to work not long after this just came into action? I know a colleague who was told there absence will now be put down as a sickness in this category.
Does it still count as a marked absence or is the manager just trying it on?

On what grounds can the sending customer complain if we're signing the vast majority of signed post "DWS" with the receiving customers approval? The half a dozen or so customers I spoke today had no interest in signing for the post when I asked them, why would they?

If they have a problem they can sack me. I'm high risk, the jobs not good enough to risk long covid.
That changed a couple of months into the pandemic.
Makes me laugh how obstinate some posties are. It’s absolutely staggering.
I love how you think using XP1 is more of a high risk to you than using C19.
I bet if your lino suddenly said “oh you’re worried about long covid? You can do outside work and wash the vans” or something you’d kick off about that, no doubt.

You are mistaken, I am not saying I won't use XP1, I'm saying I have never heard of it. Of course typing different letters and numbers wouldn't have any impact on the risk of covid.

If you use anti bac wipes on the PDA then what real risk is there of catching COVID, not sure there's any scientific evidence COVID can be passed on just by touching something.
