I think the Outdoor Actuals assume 20 minutes break is taken at the end.
There is a 20 minute grace period.
If you finish 20 minutes early what exactly are you going to do?
By the time you have washed your hands and been to the toilet and look to see what needs to be done the 20 minutes will be up.
Most grown ups understand that.

It's a different system from the actuals with its own reporting system. AFAIK it just gives whether it's a start or a finish scan and what time that scan is. It won't record any reasons, including going to the toilet. As far as the system is concerned scanning out 20 mins early is leaving 20 mins early plain and simple

Well, that shouldn't be the case unless there is an amendment to an agreement that has been in effect for 21 years and anyone who worked on the scanning in/out system should have been made aware of it.

Would not surprise me, and this kind of thing is exactly why hardly any of the jobs work and why every single revision things get broken even worse.

Agree with what you're saying here Space, furthermore in this thread we're concentrating on breaks for hours worked more than
7hrs which get a 40 min break entitlement (suggested/probable breakdown of 20 + 20 in the WFA).

But I know more than a handful of colleagues of 7hrs (30 min break entitlement) or less who will take (if at all) a 5 min break before they go out,
work all the way through and book (on paper) the remainder of their break at the end ie 25 minutes.

If 'the planners/number crunchers' follow the rules/guidance in the 'Way Forward Agreement' which states
the probable pattern for this length of break is a single block of 30 mins which should'nt be taken at the end of the day
according to the law (and so the assumption is it's been taken before they go out) then they're definitely going to assume
that there's 25 mins available for work.

They're going to look at electronic data not thousands of signing in/out sheets to see if these colleagues
took their break at the end.

I’m PT and I like to take a break approximately mid way through my delivery. My preference is to grab a takeaway coffee from say a Costa Machine and drink it with some food.

However..getting other colleagues to agree to taking a break is another story as most I know prefer to race around and finish as early as possible under the guise of ‘I’m taking my break at the end’. Sometimes an early finish is achieved, sometimes it isn’t and the break is therefore lost entirely.

Early finish or not, I prefer to have a rest when I’m in the middle of what is essentially a 4-5 hour power walk! In my opinion we finish early enough in the day as it is.
