Oh, a rant-a-thon. Around this time last year Terry had a good rant about how bad the company was a how posties were approaching burn-out, things have only got worse since then but Terry has now become Super Si's best mate.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

My dear old dad always used to say "The further up the union you go the closer to management you get". Wise words in my opinion.

Same here. Dom told us that walks would be balanced out after a bedding in process. That has been and gone and walks are still failing.Ozzvaldo wrote: ↑01 Nov 2021, 22:28Multiple rounds failed in my office again today......this has been a daily occurrence since even before Covid 19 was invented. The best (worst?) we've had is 18 partial rounds failed and 7 completely failed on the same day. This in an office where a few years ago there would be an inquisition if a single letter was found on a frame by the management when we'd gone out on delivery. You can't beat progress.

His manager has probably told him to axe N number of duties in the office and his role is to simply execute those top-down commands. Same with unsustainable lapsing plans in the summer - that only got reversed in our office when the DSM changed.Chelseablue wrote: ↑02 Nov 2021, 15:28Why would dom not want to put certain dutys that are a huge mess ,( hes admitted that ) back to way they were ? They worked before all this . Any ideas folks?
The machine stops.

I think the company is in a worse position than ever as we had a false boost from covid and pushed through revisions based on increased revenue/workload. If all of a sudden the USO is enforced we are buggered.
I preferred Rico Back as a leader at least our Union fought against him instead of becoming corporate lap dogs agreeing to every shambolic and catastrophic idea.

You were right.toonshola wrote: ↑01 Nov 2021, 18:14That was terrifying to sit and watch. Just got home completely exhausted and for the first time since working here for 12 years actually close to tears thinking about going back tomorrow. Currently alternating between both sides of a van share and have been for 5 weeks since this disgrace of a revision was put in. The office is a complete mess even our managers have had enough. To have to watch this weird delusional psycho smile and say everything is rosy has just topped of a miserable day. Pullinger probably up next to congratulate himself. What a shower of these people are.

Re: RMCtv : Deluded Simon Thomson?
Its one thing getting thousands of revisions done. Thats the easy part. The hard bit is ensuring that all the deliveries are getting delivered every day and that is where we seem to be failing on a national scale. Our office has recruited plenty of extra bods (every week I see new faces) BUT there are still mail and parcels left in frames. Why isn't it working?? As one post commented at least under Rico things where still getting delivered every day. Royal Mail cannot keep blaming delivery failures on Covid.
Its interesting that Simon mentions about certainty of contract and length, part time and full time work if they want it. There have been literally dozens of staff at our place that are on part time contracts but have been working full time for years!! lol
What is this trust agenda Simon speaks of?? Never seen it or been involved in it.
Die-hard managers will tend to still do what they always do; and that is stay in the office for most of their time, regardless of whether they have 12,000 admin tasks or 27. What else are they doing when we leave the office?
Don't know about parcel force other than Rico wanted to TUPE it. Its clearly still an area of concern.
Oh, and Einstein also once said that two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe. I don't know if Simon has had a bang on the head or is just congratulating himself for the sake of his own ego. But where I work, deliveries are failing, staff are getting fed up of walking in to 2 days mail, staff are then going on sick. And its all in the build up to the busiest part of the year....

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Doing a revision is dead easy. You just tell us to come in 15 mins later 4 days a week. Simples. Oh hang on......should there be more to it than that?
