OPG
peeps outside of the business that works in different industries don't believe when we say the overtime rate is lower than the hourly rate of pay.
Simon Thomson
it is a first for me
Simon secretly thinking, did they really vote that s**t in, well it helps my budget. All hail that way forward thing that nobody owns up to voting yes in.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I thought in the Business World EVERYTHING was open to negotiation.
Just because our predecessors agreed to a crap deal years ago there shouldn't be anything stopping the CWU saying, "The Business has changed dramatically since this was agreed to, you (RM) insist that we need to adapt. As your Business Plan relies on our members doing ridiculous ammounts of Over Time we'd like to re-negotiate those Over Time Rates"!
I can't see the problem, although I'm sure once they sit down around the table to dicuss it RM will manage to shaft us .... AGAIN!

Personally, I would prefer all OT (above the 37hrs) to be at least at the SSPR rate (and pensionable)
than have the s**t holiday pay deal, but that's just me.

Maybe they'd get us a good deal and negotiate a rate of 2p over our contracted hourly rate?Dorset Plodder wrote: ↑23 Nov 2021, 14:56I thought in the Business World EVERYTHING was open to negotiation.![]()

Re: RMCtv : Why is our overtime rate lower than our hourly rate?
Definitely needs to be renegotiated. Should be time and a half for anything over full-time hours and while we’re at it, let’s have an app to record hours rather than bits of paper everywhere. I was in early to prep, so that’s one to fill in. Then my attendance sheet to record end time. I went over so off to the office to fil in the pressure sheet. I have SA on the deck later so another sheet of paper (in a different place again) to fill in. I’ve been here 6 months and I’m astonished at how Byzantine the whole system is.
As for holiday pay, when even the grasping agency that I previously worked through pay your average earnings, OT and shift allowance included, I’m amazed that we stand for the crap we get.
