If Simon was serious, and I mean genuinely serious not just saying the right things, about ending the culture of bullying and harassment he could’ve appointed a Zareena Brown as an anti bullying officer.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

I don't want to be part of a "team" and I don't want to be referred to as "people".
It's very condescending and very dated management speak.
I want to be treated as an employee, someone who is involved in a two way contract for services rendered in return for renumeration.
I don't need a cuddle to do my job or to be fed a pile of psycho-babble.
What would be a major improvement Zareena Brown is if I wasn't treated like something a manager just stood on, if I wasn't continually told how inefficient I was, if I wasn't continually harrrased into working harder and longer, if I wasn't continually made to feel responsible for the failure of the business to modernise or the failure of management to well.. manage.
I don't mind being called a human resource because resources have value, unfortunately your management team does not value this resource at all, calling us people does nothing to change that.

I don't think Zareena came across particularly well in that video. There's another video from last year in her role at Britvic that I think shows her in a much better light. https://youtu.be/whFiINzLEME
It's an interesting video that touches on some of the things that her current remit includes, namely diversity, culture and engagement. Her 'story' is also interesting too. She comes across as very personable and enthusiastic, and it looks like she's had some success with Britvic. https://www.britvic.com/media-centre/co ... 6-04-2018a
However, that is a company with 5000 employees. How successful she will be in translating that to RM with over 20x that amount of employees and a historical problem with 'culture' remains to be seen.
In light of some of the other recent 'tactics' being employed, my feelings are that, other than a PR exercise, there is a genuine move by RM towards improving workplace culture, wellbeing and engagement. Still can't get my head around the whole "Clear Your Office, Not Just Your Frame" thing though. What was/is that about?
To answer a question from another thread, I think it is a good thing if RMHQ are perusing these posts. It will give them some alternative views from a grassroots level. Perhaps some of the most needed insight into the issues affecting Posties. There are some excellent posts in RMC, although there are some very poor, if not embarrassing posts also. But that's the 'diversity' that this site represents.
So, Zareena, if you happen to be reading this, best of luck to you, as you sure have your work cut out. Though I like what you said in your Britvic video about believing something is possible. If you can instill your enthusiasm, compassion and the importance of the human element into the company at large, I'm sure a positive change could be effected. I'm probably one of the more optimistic/hopeful/idealistic people when it comes to the future of RM, so this post will probably not resonate with many others here.

Couldn’t have put it any better.
End of thread.
