Re: Return to shared vans from Monday June 21st
Social distancing to remain for a minimum of 2 weeks (being reviewed by the government then) so no van sharing for at least another 2 weeks

Re: Return to shared vans from Monday June 21st
They should/will be out the door. I’m sick of having to start at 1pm. I bet the people that don’t want to van share are the same ones that walk around the DO talking and being close (less than 1m) to people for two hours. Yet won’t do in total 10mins in a van distanced 1m with a mask on. If you don’t want to van share you should be made to start 1pm, I bet if you told them that, they would soon van share again.

Driving instructors are back to normal?

I said there aren't many Police or Paramedics out on the road who are in the older age range.
Average age of retirement for a Police officer is 55.
I don't see many older Police officers out on the road.
I don't see many older Paramedics out on the road either and only 21% of Paramedics remain in post until their normal reitirement age.

Yes, they and they alone are responsible for their own health and safety and risk management.

I don’t mind starting at 1.00pm longer in bed, not so sure if I will like it come winter, but at the moment it’s great.

You been watching the news?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Return to shared vans from Monday June 21st
They've admitted that ceasing van share has caused huge problems for staff and the operation.
Their next statement says that current arrangements will continue (i.e. continue the problems).

I dont understand how it has caused any of us any problems as we all have a start time and a finish time.

No. Its because it shouldnt cause anyone any problems other than management. Start at your time, finish at your time and let them worry about whats done in that time. The problem is when management let people finish earlier than others, people not wanting to tell management they are working their hours and feel need to complete everything and people who usually finish early are now working till their time.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 18:54That's because it hasn't caused you any problems.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 17:57I dont understand how it has caused any of us any problems as we all have a start time and a finish time.
If you need to get a bus to your duty then thats less time delivering for instance - the same goes for getting back to office.
If you need to do the big parcels because walker cant then thats less time delivering mail
If you need to walk to and from your duty then its less time delivering mail
Surely its only a problem if you feel you need to complete and/or work over your hours to do so?
Not van sharing should only be a problem for the higher ups - not us.
What problems are there that cant be solved by starting at your time and finishing at your time?
Those forced to start at 1pm I understand their grievances however if thats not what they want.
