I haven't witnessed anyone laughing at us, many have commented saying not many British taxpayers are getting a pay rise, nor will they receive any free shares and we should think ourselves lucky to have a job, not one person has laughed about it though.

But then I remind them its not all about the money, also these shares may never surface like the colleague share scam, I then inform them on how much the bosses at RM earn and then remind how much this company made in profits over the last 2 years

No-one will lose what I will lose when we strike, 20 hour contract split over 2x10hr shifts one being the Monday, so thats half my wage.

This is a fight we have to win, and I as a union member i will fully support it until the end.

And they would know because? They don't work for Royal Mail and we do - we know what the deal entails and it isn't £s&pence.

exactly. the public know f**k all about the deal. only the bits rm want them to know. they havent been told about the pension strings, the outsourcing of deliveries, zero hour contracts, how many jobs will go, that we,ll go down to minimum wage etc etc. this is our fight, our livelyhoods, our terms and conditions.our jobs at stake. the public are totally ignorant of these facts because rm wish it to be this way. make sure YOU are aware of these facts and pass them on to the public. get you're head out of you're arse. AND BE AT THEM GATES ON THE 4TH.

2 things

1 there is no 3 year agreement(at the moment)

2 THERE IS NO £300

going on strike or not going on strike this time round will not i repeat not affect this mythical £300 that DOES NOT EXIST

One post and he's trolling and flaming. Either he's new to forums in general or he just doesn't care. Or is he doing a "switch" and is actually management making out he's a postie.

Either way, ban him if he continues with rants like this.
That kind of talk is not needed and definitely not wanted, no matter how upset/angry/annoyed he may be.

Today our union rep told us that the £300 was made of three separate £100 payments - one being the Christmas bonus - I thought I read it had nothing to do with those payments?

Confused.

The £300 (if it ever appears) is separate from any other payments. However, it is part of the offer made by RM that the CWU has rejected and given that it's only payable to those who do not strike it's quite possible it won't be in the final agreement anyway. Don't spend it yet. The union rep should have known all that.

A colleague of mine asked a (very) senior manager about the amount of information (some say propaganda) that is being pumped out by RM. The answer was that it's because the facts are not getting through to people. Even given the huge cynicism about the material and the glee with which people announce they don't read it, it is hard to argue when so much of the debate is characterised by people not understanding the basics e.g the £300 offer, the post from the guy that said that the pension issue was that we had to make increased contributions etc.

The problem with sending out this stuff on a daily basis is that everything is treated as propaganda. I believe that was RMs intention...not to inform the workforce of relevant facts. If they wanted to do that they should have condensed the information into manageable pamphlets that people would have read. Instead it was all treated as BS and consigned to File 13 by a lot of Posties. Even the interesting bits like how to order extra shares (hidden in the middle of that big red book) :whistle

A lot of people are also adverse to reading nowadays so is it any wonder that they ask questions, which may already have been answered in a RM letter, from a source they trust like RMC? :hmmmm
