Another day, another cut off, even on a light day I need to cut off my duty but I suppose the management know what they're doing

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Easy day, I was covering a 4 hour duty in a nearby office
Had a small victory with the PHG/Manager (it's only a small office) last time I covered it I got the , "It's only a 4 hour duty that's all I can pay you." routine. Today I told him if he wanted the duty done he'd have to pay me for my time. I got 5 hours plus MR
Stick to your guns about your hours worked. Other offices I've worked in the lads said," Fine I'm cutting off at your finishing time and bringing the mail back to finish at the correct time!". That normally causes a stir amoungst the DOMs. You get a bit of sparring for a few days then they say,"OK I'll pay you the excess it takes to finish the job!" I thought that was what Posties were meant to do

And yet another cut off because of the mail left from yesterday (which was a cut off also). 4 yorks of packets lying, i hope there's not a lot off plants among them as they have been piling up since last week but hey the new duties are working ok.
