So basically 3 posties will be doing 4 parties jobs in the future and somehow RM seem to have convinced both the PC and OFCOM it will lead to an improvement in service?
Plus the union expect us to approve such a move when it will lead to a 25% increase in workload each week, with nothing in return from the company?

We've been told we should save approximately an hour a day and we'll be sharing a town duty between groups of 3, or it maybe 4?, with that "spare" time, which will be allocated to our duties, it won't be just helping out struggling duties as required. It sounds like all.year round lapsing to me!funkflex55 wrote: ↑Yesterday, 16:20It looks like they do 1 and a bit. As in of their one walk they'll do half fully and half first class and tracked. In the time they save they can then help out as required on the walks that are struggling.mickeymacca wrote: ↑Yesterday, 07:53Sorry for being thick, and having to go over this again. But does the driver/singleton do half of a full duty and then all of the 1st and parcels on the other half And for the other walk they are covering (so 1 and half walks)?funkflex55 wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026, 09:17So it looks like HCT and rural will become the best duty. You get to only do half the frame fully each day albeit with 2/3 days mail and obviously the other half tracked, first class, specials, collections and boxes. And then you can have a coffee and then get back too late to help out on the walks that now have 17 days mail on them as the workload is too much. Great!
I'm pretty sure that's it but not 100 percent.
So basically you'll take out 50% of your own rural duties mail and all the tracked & 1c along with 25% of the newly allocated town duty each day.

Oh dear that will come as a shock to some of our easy singletons that already take the absolute piss, that's actually a good positive step taking them up to being a full duty.TopperGas wrote: ↑Yesterday, 17:46We've been told we should save approximately an hour a day and we'll be sharing a town duty between groups of 3, or it maybe 4?, with that "spare" time, which will be allocated to our duties, it won't be just helping out struggling duties as required. We currently are all single duties with a roughly 50/50 split of vans and HCT. Change will come to us but not what is on that example.claretandblue wrote: ↑Yesterday, 17:54Everybody does 4 loops plus 4 loops of tracked and first class, easier to do this as a pairing than on your own.
The agreement appears to give offices the freedom to find their own way to get to the end result, interesting times ahead

Wonder if you could answer this, how have you managed to not have any shared vans? Are all of your singleton van duties all rural and driving down country lanes all day?

We did have shared vans but it was abandoned many moons ago because it didn't work.
No rural duties, all "town" with many duties starting close to the office, vans obviously cover the duties further out
RM could increase our vans but I can't see them spending the money plus we don't have the room

you've done well to show that shared vans don't work/aren't efficient. Other offices had them enforced and kept. For what it's worth I reckon offices with all singleton duties will be ok going forward.A2B wrote: ↑Yesterday, 18:54We did have shared vans but it was abandoned many moons ago because it didn't work.

As it it seems the company has gone to 6 loop walks as the new standard we can actually work out the time needed for this new s**t show.
2 days mail on the current loops we have usually takes around an hour a loop. The 1st class and and tracked take about 10 min a loop if you do them together. The new way of working means you do loops in a nearby but a different area.
So you need 4:hours for 4 big loops.
40 mins for 4 small loops. (Tracked and 1st class)
20 mins for travelling between loops and walks.
20 mins for aob, collections, boxes, specials.
So that's 5 hours and 20 in total.
Those on part time old contracts have 30 mins break, so that means they'd have 10 mins to get in the office bag up, load up, van check and then at the end get back unload etc!
Full timers who will be prepping 2/3 days mail will need to be significantly faster in the morning and get out earlier than they do now but with more workload than they currently have.
Will the above work?!;

The due mail for that day will be part of the workload. It could be anything. Then include all the other tasks. The idea that it will simply be two products is nonsense and the CWU know it.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑Yesterday, 10:33RM have been clear that no second class is to be delivered on Saturdays whether it arrives at the DO or not on the Friday or the Saturdaytramssirhc wrote: ↑Yesterday, 06:58Dont take what this lot say as the truth. For wave 1 ALL available mech mail is meant to be run whether it's 1C or 2C. The DTS system decides what 2C is due for delivery, it releases what is due for delivery.TopperGas wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026, 13:48Incorrect, I can't remember the last time I saw a 1c in first wave, all 1c comes in small second wave or manual.
It's the same at my DO, what logic would there be including 1c in every tray of MECH as that would mean it would have to be look through for any 1c even if it wasn't going out that day?
Additionally I can't recall any suggestions by RM that 1c & 2c will both be delivered to addresses on 1c delivery days i.e. Saturdays.
What’s not to understand about that? They have been clear from the outset

Thats not what the agreement says. Whoever put that together has missed off all the workload that will be due and all the tasks an opg does.

The trial method for CSS is for 1C and 2C to be run together on both waves, with the DTS releasing any 2C where there's a 1C item for a DP, any 2C that has hit the time limit and any 2C where other 2C is being released for the same DP. Wave 1 is sequenced, wave 2 is walk sort. Any wave 2 up until a certain time goes to the CSS machines, anything after that gets run on the basic office breakdown plan on the iLSM.
Any 1C which arrives for wave 2 that hasn't been through an iLSM or IMP before has go be run on the basic office breakdown plan on the iLSM as without the data encoded into the orange barcodes the CSS machines chuck it out to the deferred.
We've been running the trial method for months, before we did we'd average about 30% of mail being deferred, now it's about 50%. The volume of deferred is determined by when the DSA arrives at the MC.

You can argue all day about the CWUs failings until the cows come home.
The fact and the truth is the CWUs only agenda now is self preservation.
