This has not been mentioned once in my office I doubt anyone who's not a member of this chat site knows collections are even a thing.

As you've got such a firm grasp of it perhaps you'd be kind enough to follow up on my suggestion and provide a simple step by step guide for the process, including what to do when a parcel can't be collected for whatever reason.

"your manager must authorize any failed collections" ...how does that work when they've all f****d off home 3 hours previous?

Wow. I had no idea. This is live now?

My 'training' was a fellow postie saying 'do you know about these new collections?'

No.

'Well, they are shown on your PDA, it lists them, tells you where to pick them up. Don't worry its a max of 5 a day, you'll probably hardly ever get any. '

I had no idea you had to scan them, and no idea I could be taking back up to 25 parcels, along with all the other returns etc.

I'm not against parcel collections as all additional business is good for the company. But they say its only limited to 5 calls per customer. Does anyone with half a brain really believe that this will still be the case in the future??

Why has the Union just accepted this? Any credible Union would only be agreeing to any new changes in return for something for their members.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Six days a week. And as mentioned before, for van shares there is the potential of 50 packets in one day.

One of the patronising videos showed a postie with an LWT happily collect what I'd call a BT Modem sized box and pop it in one of the pouches which was conveniently empty. No mention of days like today when it is peeing down, or the day when the pouch still has a load of post in it, or the day when the pouch already has 739'd items in it etc etc
