The talks as far as Im aware are "National", so the same goes for the national issues..."some progress has been made"fishtank wrote:MrGoose wrote: Some progress has been made, talks have been extended to Friday 17th June, during this time there will be no notice of strike action, however the ballot remains valid.

Any progress with with those?
Where is "the biggest consultation with the membership in the union's history"?

Re: London Dispute Update
The talks this week have been on London. Simple reason why this is the case as that strike action is a real threat at this moment. Royal Mail do listen when someone votes yes. Royal Mail have extended the ballot notice period till next Friday in order for talks to continue.
The talks have been headed up for the CWU by Dave Ward ., Bob Gibson , Joe Malone and the London Divisional Reps.
Some progress has been made but a lot will have to be made next week in order to reach an agreement and avoid a strike. The national issues have set aside a number of days the week after to move those on .

Re: London Dispute Update
I dont know what other peoples definition of "In parallel" means, but Im of the understanding that it means they take place during the same meetings at the same place at the same time.

Ahhh, so the national talks are not "In parallel", that explains that one then, they are just deferred until the week after the 17th june.

Well if ever there was an indication of what the "real" issue was, as if we didn't already know - so much for the "we're all in this together" - well when we get round to the rest of you that is. Lets just hope it doesn't come to a national ballot.fishtank wrote:Is anyone in HQ aware of how this looks to the rest of the membership?dingo wrote:The national issues have set aside a number of days the week after to move those on .

And all those London posties get upset when we say that we feel unsupported by the union.fishtank wrote:Is anyone in HQ aware of how this looks to the rest of the membership?dingo wrote:The national issues have set aside a number of days the week after to move those on .

Would all those people who are supporting London now go out to defend them when they do things like this???

True, it's beginning to look like save London at the expense of everyone else.dvbuk55 wrote:Makes you wonder exactly which MC is being lined up for the chop instead of ................doesn't it?DGP1 wrote:And all those London posties get upset when we say that we feel unsupported by the union.fishtank wrote:Is anyone in HQ aware of how this looks to the rest of the membership?dingo wrote:The national issues have set aside a number of days the week after to move those on .

Re: London Dispute Update
I will ask the question and move the elephant into plain view.
If the London talks end in failure just how keen will the union be to resolve the national issues given that any resolution of these national issues severely weakens any chance of progressing any industrial action taken by London into the national arena?
Or on the flip side if the London talks are successful will the union put that resolution at risk by balloting the full membership over the wider issues?
All issues should have been in the same pot with an acceptable resolution for all achieved...or none at all.
What this has done is backed the union into a corner....again.
