Has any mail centers got the bonus ? seen the 2 pictures that were few pages back of 3 mail centers that were top 3 did any of them get the bonus ?

Don't mail centres need the delivery offices they despatch to , to achieve the bonus in order for them to get it. The same as Voc and distribution drivers? Think it was designed this way hoping the MC workers, drivers etc would volunteer to do ot in delivery offices to help them clear so they would get their bonus. Funnily enough no one from our mail centre or distribution have tuned up to clear any of our mail or parcels

Didnt know that was an option, if it was i would have tried it. Guess its something you have to ask for ?

It's shite on delivery. Don't do it unless you're best pals with the management

Really dead last night. Had the final lorry come in earlier, I reckon we could have made getting toward an hour early finish last night

Tomorrow should be quiet on delivery then?

For this one day of the year nothing is stopping me getting an early dart if possible!

Are posties out on delivery's Sunday morning ? Just trying to work out how busy it could be saturday night.

They are working Sunday in ours.

Well ours was quiet on letters relatively quite on Tracked but Mondayesque workwise in the Locker and tonight will be murderous busy in the Locker as no work came in or went out for 2 hours in the evening after a casual was stabbed on his way to work and Police shut the gates and what they could divert was sent to Southampton(Nope not sure why there as they are not the next nearest MC) so all those specials will come in tonight. So the same old last night before Xmas everyone else thanked for hard work at Xmas and let go home an hour or so early whilst those of us in the Locker will be struggling to finish by 6 am

We all have to wait until everyone is done before anyone can go home, after some were complying about some going home before others.
Don't they divert if there are long delays so the live mail is inside a MC rather than the wagon ?

Why does everyone think the locker is going to be busier than ever on the last night? We average around 12k a night in our locker this week and on the last night it will be around 8K. Was the same last year & the year before that and every year I can remember for the last 20 years. Even the managers will say we are going to get hammered tonight

Mostly i believe its down to the public leaving stuff to send at the last minute, or forgetting something so with Specials been last day to get it before xmas, that's is why some believe it will be more busy in the locker tonight.

I do hear you though Wolfman its bound to be quiet like everywhere else, but you don't know until its over.

Yes nim you would think everyone is going to send it special delivery to make sure it gets there, which they probably will, but it's no where near as much as people expect. Most have got all their shopping in. You watch us get 15K tonight & make me look silly lol

What is the extra fee for SG now? Is it enough to put people off. I also wonder if RM will hold over the non Saturday guarantees till next week.

With the old system with the STAR guns, they could chuck loads of people into the locker on the last night. Now with the PDAs and the bag numbers being on the labels, they can't chuck loads of people into the locker. With the old system you could have multiple people scanning stuff out to DOs and you'd just stick all the DUNs for a DO into the sleeve/bag at the end.

Our locker doesn't seem to have been as busy as previous years

Special 100g item for Saturday will knock you £11.82, a non Saturday is £7.35 or £6.85 if doing it online.

Not sure how they will deal with non Saturday specials, never asked the question as i know the answer i get will be clear the locker and let the DO worry about that.

I think its an extra £3 for SG.

If a special comes into our office we will attempt delivery.

Most biz specials are retentioned but ia SG is attempted even if we know the biz is closed

Space phoenix. You do know that you can have multiple people using different pda's all scan into the same sleeve using the same bag label? We have no problem putting loads of bodies in the room to clear. If 1 PDA closes the sleeve it closes it on all pda's though and everyone has to set up the new bag label for the next sleeve. Better to have more people scanning less destinations each. Don't see the problem putting more bodies in the room over the old system though.

I've not been in our locker since it moved over to using PDAs. I believe they think that it's one PDA only per bag label
