Told the DOM I might be going over by about half an hour mainly due to the bad weather. Almost got to my round when my wheels went from under me and I went flying, LITERALLY up Park Rd.
Hit the deck and skidded along for a bit. Rang the office and reported the fall. Picked myself up and carried on. Last letter just before finish time. Sat here nursing a sore back. :cry

Very light day as regards mail. However, snow was 8 to 12 inches deep in places and had frozen overnight. Ankles are aching like mad, not from falling over but just the effort of wading through the snow. Let us out early 0845 but still took nearly 4 hours to get round.

Sounds like your area acted as our first line of defence Teebs - it's a clear sunny day here in south Manchester with virtually all yesterdays snow melted away and very little ice about. Instead of causing westerly airflow to drop everything on us, the Pennines have this time protected us from the worst of the weather coming from the east. Thanks mate - take care out there, spring is round the corner.

Looked worse than it actually was. Lots of flats. Hardly any packets. Finished within time and the sun was shining. :chuckle

Off sick (literally) today

Feeling rather fragile, little man has been poorly earlier in the week last weekend and its always the way if one member of the household gets a bug then it works its way around the house!

woke up to well over 6 inches of snow.most of us got in. roads were blocked around redditch,so after ips, we had a meeting and we were told to take the mail for the road we live in. the drivers doubled up to take the specials. as no one lives on my walk , so it stopped in.[
