You've obviously not read or understood the agreement. The agreement for the first hour alone requires both the participation in trials and an agreed implementation plan driven by the outputs of the completed trials for both delivery methods and resource scheduler(including data capture).

Delivery methods being...what exactly? Multiple bundles? Vests for D2D? Your guess is as good as mine.

After that hours 2-4 become even more murky and subject to pay reviews, trials, implementation of change and various drivers outside our control.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

I still don't see it being physically possible for RM to be able to get rid of the sorting frames in DOs and save their reported 25 minutes of duty time. If RM can't get this and other stuff they want you won't get any more hours of SWW. Not that I particularly see the point in the SWW at this point in time. Its really more something to deploy when technology starts to really bite and lots more jobs start to go or become unnecessary. But we are not at that point yet. Currently with more retail shifting from shops to the internet we are seeing large chains going. We are only at the very beginning of the process.

Also the SWW is dependant on all the trials being successfully implemented. Some aspects of the trials are not possible to do so that leaves the SWW in doubt beyond the first of the two new hours.
35 HOUR WEEK SPEELS THE END OF A 40MIN PAID BREAK, AND NO MENTION OF COMPENSATING THAT IN ANY PAY RISE

Only if you work flat days.
And only if you work 5 days/6.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I think even for 35 hours rather than 40 hours that we would be legally entitled to some paid break time within the duty. When that would be taken and how many minutes I'm not sure on.
I hadn't actually thought about this aspect before. It may that as a result of eventually moving to a 35 hour week that break time could be reduced/eliminated. Yet another plus for RM in the agreement!

For RM to eliminate sorting frames in DOs, that would probably require new machines capable of sorting and sequencing letters and flats together and for DOs to keep their A+ always updated. Just need bulk postings like Council Tax to see that some DOs don't bother keeping their A+ up to date

There is no legal entitlement to anyone in the UK getting a paid break.

We have a contractual agreement that breaks are paid.

Its based on attendance not contract

Not in this agreement - perhaps in future ones but that haven't removed them yet.

I think others on this forum who work in MCs have noted there isnt space for these new machines. Regarding A+ records my walk for example is up to date but the sequenced mail often comes slightly mixed up. We usually get at least a bunch of mixed up mail for my frame at the back of the run in the tray. There might also be a mixed up quantity in the middle of the tray. I don't know how the machines are operated but it would seem like a 'fast-forward button is being pressed. Then you have the problem of letters coming in the sequenced trays alternating upside down which is a pain in the a***. Apparently this problem can be fixed but managers in MCs say ' f*** 'em! Just let it flow through' and so the situation continues.
I think it was reported recently on this forum that a recent trial to combine sequenced letters & flats failed somewhere within RM. In addition it is obviously not going to work or save any time to try and deliver from maybe two bundles of mail and a bundle of D2Ds at each delivery point. It

Got to call "Complete Bullshit!" on that :cuppa Solystic's XMS machine should be possible to fit into any MC. If a MC couldn't fit one in, then I'd expect to see them either move to a new larger building or be merged into another MC

That will be where the plan containing your walk has been run before the iLSM or IMP plan that breaks the inward mail down to batches has finished being run

That's down to which way up they were when they first get run through an iLSM or IMP

iirc it only failed due to too much mail getting damaged

Negotiations have begun between the CWU & RM to decide when we will receive the back pay. Apparently it wasn't decided in the pay negotiations.

Probably an afterthought but by the way some voted their forethought wonder if they get told to lapse double in the summer and twice again in the winter what a great deal that was as long as we get back pay vote for anything people died for principals is the past we now have a generation who capitulate at the very mention of strike never mind actually going on strike what a sad world we live in these days! They will pay dearly for those inaction's and voting for this agreement in time they will repent at their own lack of leisure and working till they drop what a way to go!
