I belive Amazon policy is to use a variety of delivery partners, it also appears they the amount of work each partner gets comes and goes as each tries to compete by upping the service they provide Amazon with.

The more work RM can get from Amazon the better but it needs to be correctly resourced. For example we dont want yorks of unsorted packets on Saturdays following a Friday bank holiday which will contain some amazon packets. This has happened the last two saturdays at my D.O.

If ALL amazon packets travelled in seperate yorks they could be given priority at IPS stage in the D.O's thus ensuring confidence in RML to be the first choice delivery partner.

Why should they get priority?
I'll let you into a secret Daz,there is NO 1st,2nd,dsa or mailsort in a D.O. and this applies to packets as well.
Everything that comes in that day should go out that day.
Anything less is a quality failure.
If the level of service was what it was supposed to be you wouldn't need to prioritise anything.

Quality of service within RM is a joke.

Today:
Specials - no dun notes
Tracked items - thrown in with the rest of the parcels to be segged at the DO - a pretty hit and miss affair at best

The delivery staff do their best but with service like that it's a strain on the resources available.

so do you know anything about "World Class Mails" , because you will real soon, CSS machines, iLSM"s, all these are going to affect you and your delivery office
whether you have 18 walks or 180 walks going out of your delivery office, "Slips Trips and Falls" this is another "world class mail" idea that is going to affect
you in delivery.

Radom for one I am not from Headquarters , so I have not asked you to support anything. Your Branch may indeed have got a majority of the members to vote against it , now there were only a handful to have done that and now you mention Brighton I think I know what Branch your from. However as is your right to vote against , it is also the right of members to vote yes and they did which meant we had an agreement. Now the agreement was substitunal and Branch`s were asked to copy it out to members. Now the question is what parts of the agreement do you think Royal Mail would have not introduced if the unon had not reached the agreement ?

Wandle what do you think the union is asking the members to oppose if not the new business plan. The PEC had a meeting yesterday and had what is known as an in camera meeting which means they debate all the issues and next week they will have a policy document with recommendations from the offices which they can amend. This then becomes the policy of the union and will be explained at briefings or conference and in LTBs etc. Yes the union does not accept those things and have not agreed to them.

Dvbuk pensions is still an issue. What assets are split between the government and POl under the sell off , including what scheme we have going forward. Your wrong concerning the RPI issue Royal Mail did not need to do that , remember it could have gone through a further consultation exercise or it could have said that it was not a government led pension scheme ie the ones which Alan Johnson when he was the minster in charge agreed the public sector pensions scheme deal. So of course pensions is still as issue.

Of course pensions are still an issue dingo BUT it has been an ongoing issue and not some holy cow that can be trotted out in the face of adversity. The pension issue should have been sorted long ago, instead of which it has been allowed to drag on and on and on. I can never forget those immortal words from the 2007 negotiations............"we have managed to decouple the pensions issue" and that was the CWU........at the last negotiations for the 2010 fiasco, do you not think it would have been meet to actually sort the issue out once and for all. That would have been one less problem to deal with, or is it part of the unions repertoire when the going gets tough?

I'll ask the question again...
How do we get Royal Mail to honour any new agreement when the won't honour this one...or the last one...or the one before that...etc. ad infinitum....

Fighting compulsory redundancies is a just cause to fight but if you take the members out you have to know what it will take to bring them in and a "form of words" or "overarching ambition" isn't good enough any more.
If you take the members out...what are you looking for from Royal Mail dingo?
And how can you trust anything they promise?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Well I would imagine it would be a new understanding, full involvement and an overarching, (a stupid word), desire for mutual trust...............then after the agreement and the IA has been called off............back to normal, ignoring the agreement and the CWU............it seems to be the norm of late BUT the lesson hasn't sunk in yet.

Just as a matter of interest, because I haven't seen it, is 150 The Broadway a log cabin populated with banjo players by any chance? :Boo hoo! I know it's not a banjo just use your imagination :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

First Dingo I know you’re not from HQ but you go there more than all OPGs and most area people from around the UK because you’re from the smoke, now I have met both DW and BH twice in the last few years to talk with and would assume you are on first name terms with both? If not no worries here. Last time around you did your hardest to sell action to the rest of us here and to your patch and you got it. You then did your best to sell the deal to us here and to your patch and you got it, you said it was a good deal and it was not it was bloody awful. Sorry Dingo but there is no point in asking me questions about the deal as me and our office as members had NO input into it. it was done in the dark behind our backs and we were just told to vote yes as there was no alternative. Our Branch did copy it out to each office and we could have taken it home overnight if we wished we were also given Web links to it so we all knew what was in it and that maybe is why our branch recommended a no and the area voted a no. You seem to have problems with the wording that was used about closing MCs and are crying foul. I will never vote for job losses but that poor deal did NOT guarantee no forced redundancy’s it made a commitment to try to avoid them. I am no lawyer but i would think if the CWU were taken to court after a yes ballot it would be denied the right to strike. Hey give it a go though you just may get permission from the law? That would be the same law that can overturn a majority of thousands for IA for half a dozen ballot papers. The agreement was imposed on the membership because CWU HQ allowed their own political masters to screw up a system and allow private companies to skim off the cream and then force RM to subsidise even that. HQ has been back footed at best since the early 2000s and all the shabby deals that came after were about cutting costs rather than dealing with the real issue of postal liberalisation. I would never have agreed to cut costs and services in RM for the fat cats. IA should have always been about that, not a few silver coins in our pockets a doctor will try to treat the illness not the symptoms and if given a choice that’s what i would have done in the beginning so your last question is pointless and it looks like the CWU have painted themselves in a corner to me but again I will vote for IA if given a chance even though I know the settlement would likely be as bad as the last 3 deals.
