And that's if the neighbour even gets on with them. Had many an occasion where neighbours were not at all happy to take parcels or even out right refused. Of course harder to know if it's not your regular round to.

the public just seem to want to slag off anyone online who cannot really respond without the risk of getting in bother due the the social media policy
there could be a number of factors, why the neighbour wasn't tried, could have been a special, they may have tried but no answer, they simply didn't have the time,
the callers office closed isn't good but probably rm's fault with staffing levels,
the other photo with it left half way out, could have been any other courier that, no indication of anything who posted it
lets face it, we get the blame for most things,
the other day i got moaned at for leaving a gate open, i asked them politely to show me the letter i'd just posted, they said there wasn't 1 :left:

Unless I been doing it wrong 🤔 are we told to take the tracked photo with the package half hanging out the letterbox? That could have been the photograph they received?

Yes, the PDA actually says in the photo blurb to take a pic with it half in the letterbox. Only a numpty would think that that was how we’d left the packet 🙄

Looks like Automatic Redelivery is getting rolled out nationally in May.

It is nationally, supposedly. Start of May apparently.
We can’t deliver, or attempt to deliver, the parcels first time. How the f*#k can we cope with the undelivered parcels from the day before?
Joke of a company. They want to be a parcels company  :wave :nana

They'll still need someone to log and process the returned pkts no? Or are you expected to just pile them up in the isle day after day by your frame?
They'll probably expect each postie to so their own when they get back
Apparently the process is to leave some kind of 739, then return the item to office and automatically attempt a re-delivery for a max of 3 more days, then its automatically killed off. In other words exactly like Evri etc.
And yes you will be expected to store the items at your frame, so no booking in or out, no option to collect or anything remotely helpfull like that.If you are at work all day all week, or on holiday or summat you are stuffed.
In a long list of stupid and unhelpfull ideas this is probably the stupidist. DPR drivers will need an Arctic at Christmas.

The process is 2 more automated redelivery attempts, then booked in for the customer to arrange either redelivery or local collect at a post office. There won't be an option to collect from delivery office.

I doubt it be long before PO branches start refusing to hold them. They will have very limited storage space as it is

Royal Mail must have some sort of deal with the PO for Local Collects? Wonder how much RM pays and whether the increase in that cost would be greater than keeping the Callers Offices?

Local Collects will just be a handful of packets a day. Take a look at how much space is taken up in your callers office by the docketed stuff then imagine that divided up between all the PO branches in the area covered by your DO

Some Post offices are actually a lot busier then others. My old place had a few PO that refused to take call & collects because they simply ran out of space and it wasn't even Christmas pressure. Terrible idea from a terrible company.

From what I have heard, CSPs may only be open for a couple of hours a day, mainly for businesses to drop off mail.
