We haven’t had van shares in about 3 years. Much easier way of working for us I find

According to Boris road map I would assume van share will be back in the middle of June this year when he says we go back to normal.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

As somebody has said, how long is a piece of string. Pointless question. The last return came somewhat out of the blue; who knows when the current situation will change.

I suspect they'll look to phase it out longterm anyway. The plan going forward involves less frontline personel, and you suspect they'll build duties over different shirt patterns like the other couriers do. You'll have mornings; afternoons, Sundays ect ect negating the need for van sharing which is actually innificent anyway.

It only came back last time, wrongfully, because of Winter/Xmas pressure

Once that was out the road it was scrapped unsurprisingly

You'll notice that it was still not allowed all through last summer when there were very few cases of the virus so I think its wishful thinking from some to think that because we have went to level 4 it will come back anytime soon
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Makes you wonder why you are now seeing RM vacancies for 2pm to 6pm staff?

It's mainly the walking postperson that are in a hurry to get back to van share, in most cases they don't want to help with the growing amount of parcels, just want to deliver the declining letters,
As a walking postie theres no way in hell i want to go back to van share! I like going as fast or slow as i want without having to worry about the other person.
Just say NO ....to the new agreement.

Another problem with van sharing is with all the parcels most of our vans couldn’t get two walks in them

When RM bring in them dedicated large parcel duties (think it's basically all the mail sent via the 3 parcel hubs) then in theory that won't be a problem

Let’s all pair up in the vans and hope we don’t end up in the 59%
