Hope you've only got an enflamed tendon. These sort of injuries are a bit "Catch 22". Do you go into work and risk further injury or do you call in sick and risk stage warnings. :hmmmm

A lot of Posties are suffering from lower limb injuries. If you've had any sports injury experience I find that helps. Using Pain Killers, Anti-Inflammatories, Supports and RICE (Rest Ice Compression Elevation) all help in the short term. However it's that "Catch 22" decision that's hard to make sometimes, especially as you're concerned with previous absences. You have to bear in mind any Long Term Effects and be led by your Doctor. :thumbup

Perhaps talk to your Unit Rep, or Area Rep, and see what they say. The point made about Bag Weights, and using a LWT, is just for your own good. It helps remove the weight from Backs & Lower Limbs and prevent injuries. Good Luck with the injury. :cuppa
