They should have the stuff for each type of office in its own app, then each app could be slimmer.

Why tell them what works, isn't that why they earn the big bucks to know what works and what doesn't. They always say that this PDA is all singing all dancing bit equipment, but they want us to say what works and what doesn't not on my watch

I agree, let them figure it out. No pay rise no feedback from me

As someone who scans a lot of tracked into the office would it not be possible to have an auto-submit option for indoor scanning and a rolling count that doesn't automatically disappear when you accidentally submit 300+ items and then wonder where they've gone.

Must be different in Delivery Indoor mode. For MC Tracked it auto-sends and keeps a rolling count (unless you select done or go back to the menu)

I did think it was different in mail centres or maybe there's an option I can't find but you can't efficiently submit each individual item and if you leave them unsubmitted you run the risk of either losing your count by accidently submitting them with the palm of your hand or worse a PDA meltdown and losing all your scanned unsubmitted items.

We were promised finger scanners.....

What about having an empty sleeve that the scanned items get put in before they get allocated to walks. Are you required by the DOM to count the number of Tracked that you scan?

We're dealing with 3000+ tracked per day, it's a constant conveyer belt through the IPS, there's no time or room to set them aside for manual counting.
We count everything we receive from the MC because their figures are unreliable and often late or unavailable.

The system that logs all Tracked scans gets really slow after about 03:00, MC Tracked managers have to record each hour the number of Tracked processed and what yorks of Tracked they have to be sorted. Don't know if SD scans go onto the same servers but it would explain the slowness (normally 2 scans per SD item with an extra one if it's a missort, to record why)

The segging of Tracked from non-Tracked and small Tracked from large Tracked is really s**t from every MC (probably just as s**t from our early and late shifts). It's not unusual to get a york of "large" that's virtually all small

They regularly crash or freeze and need rebooting. Many a time I've been unable to put on standby mode so then the battery gets drained, and that's before it rains where it's impossible to keep them dry the amount of times we have to get them out.

They're about as responsive as a 1GB memory mobile phone, in the modern age of apps galore. No longer fit for purpose, which can be applied to so many aspects of our wonderful employer.

I lose count of the amount of times that I scan an item on the doorstep, only to realise that I forgot to submit the scan when I next go to use the PDA. Can the PDA use the GPS to give an audible alert if you walk a short distance away from a property whilst there is still a scanned item on the screen?
