agree if you not doing anything wrong you got nothing to worry about, its only gonna upset/worry the people that are doing stuff they should not be. there is 1 support (or as we like to say lack of support) driver in our DO that always complains he not got enough time and throws back huge packets because he cant be arsed and then he spends an hour or more at home before he takes his van back. so in cases like that i feel its gonna be a good thing

night tonic think you are being a tad premature and slightly forward in your assumption that r.m would fit them to your private car (at least thats seems to be what your saying?) the cost of fitting / running them is going to out weigh the benifits to r.m. Snoopers (lino's etc) will be seeing an ever changing attitude from staff as they try to force extra work on unwilling posties all i can say is do the job properly and all r.m schemes will slowly fall apart you cannot achive without the will of the 'people' you need them onboard and i realy think youv'e gone about it the wrong way

Thats just me being sarcastic  but you assume that all posties make loads of time one the job ...? if not all, best you keep quiet as i dont unless its super light
trackers on the vans and hand held are going to cost tens of thousands £££££ in upkeep and benifits will if any be short lived as we slow down and do the job at reasonable pace just after all it's just human nature not liking to being screwed by two spivs and the freeloaders

Er come again? I assume nothing - certainly not in this job. I just don't see why trackers are a big deal. I said nothing about time. They're welcome to track me but once I'm off home thats their lot.

Royalmail are not going to fit these to your car or anyone's else's just to a postman/woman before they go out on delivery it is called handheld's and is device to capture signatures and bar code's and may/or not have gps tracking! But if you allow your mobile to be tracked you can be tracked even now! Tracker's are for vans in royalmails fleet they can will and have fitted them but still no agreement is in place for roll out on their use!.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If handheld's were intoduced with gps they (royalmail) would know the true average speed of a postie maybe even brake it down for age, height ,sex , experience ,or maybe if you have the wing's of a mythical horse (pegasus) on red bull a real flyer!.

Like the comment about microwave but the inet is a wonderful thing and as such will be researching on how to stop it tracking then will be laughing my head off when the management think i am still in the office when i should be halfway round my round. Which of course i would be 3 quarters of the way round because pegasus(cough cough s!*t) says so.

lets see whos laughing then!! :cuppa
