WITH FLEXIBILTY IT WAS MENTIONED THAT YOU MAY BE SENT TO ANOTHER OFFICE SO WHO WOULD BE DOING YOUR WALK? PLUS WOULD THIS FLEXIBILTY BE USED FOR STRIKE BUSTING EG.IN THE CASE OF BURSLEM COULD POSTMEN AND WOMEN FROM OTHER OFFICES IN THE STOKE AREA HAVE BEEN SENT TO DO WALKS IN BURSLEM? JUST ATHOUGHT!

That's comforting to know. On their previous record of making critical decisions summer will end up as being classified as one Tuesday in July and the third Saturday in August - just in time for the union conference season in Jersey.
Depressed and cynical.

In our office, and I assume its happened in others too, we have been asked to consider taking more holidays in the summer to accommodate this walk collapsing. If sufficient numbers don't come forward, then people may be asked to attend other offices to create the right conditions for walk collapsing. If this is the case up and down the country, where are these surplus people going to go?

Most people at my DO can make between 1 or 2 hours a day but the effort put in to do this is phenomenal! Any hint of being asked to do extra, and suddenly we will be unable to make any time whatsoever. This is not being awkward on our part, its just human nature. Take away the carrot and RM will lose productivity.

Ah the immeasureable ,unquantifiable secret of success. Something Al and Ac have, through no fault of their own, but simply due to lack of practical experience ,got not a clue about it,s contribution to the business. The incentive /goodwill/loyalty factor.Try to measure it, give it an on paper £ value, not possible.
Lose it through lack of trust, deceit, exploitation cheap overpaid, underworked soundbite mantra's, and you get a pyrrhic victory ,who's cost will far outweigh and outlast it's benefits. Careful what you wish for Adam
