which is basically the reason why we have so much health and safety nowadays, it has NOTHING to do with our best interests, its about RM covering their arse and making any accidents at work YOUR fault by not following procedures 100%
That's the basic principle behind H&S legislation, and why it works.

The company is responsible not only for their own f**k ups, but your f**k ups too. So in order to cover their own arse, they have to ensure they've done everything possible to ensure you don't f**k up. Else they get slapped with large fines when something goes wrong.

You're literally describing why it's effective legislation.
