Why are people moaning about working 12 minutes less a day? Some people are never happy. Don’t like it leave and get a better job.

its not our job to lose the 1 hour work its down to royal mail :left: , happy days 1 hour less to work or an extra hour o/t ,so either way its going to affect the company ie cost of o/t or more dutys being left or brought back , and I think its a great call from the cwu as it know puts the pressure on the company to move quicker on the automation crap they are constantly throwning at the staff . so lets NOT give any free work or time .

12 minutes off start of duty means 12 minute break off at end of duty. Simple.

I can see:

1. the same selfish posties screwing the job up for everyone else by coming in early
2. the posties who do the job by the book. by starting on time, taking a break and being unable to finish on time - because there are now 12 minutes less in order to complete the job and nothing has really changed. Whether they claim or leave mail behind is their choice.

12 minutes isn't a massive difference though, so I believe things will still carry on the same as before.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I read an LTB mentioning something about “only if you’ve filled in the proper paperwork” so maybe it’s that?

15mins off for me, four day week :)

No it doesn't mean you take the time off the end of the duty. RM want you to come in twelve minutes later each day than you currently do up til now.

It means your area union rep has gone against the CWU agreement with RM & has lodged a disagreement to have the time taken off the end of duty time. It will only delay the inevitable though.
