No overtime or sign in/our sheet on saturday

My DO is so behind the times the term PHG continues to be used. Seriously.
Length of service carries many bonuses in my DO.
For example, in choosing your route, the longest serving gets first choice, then it cascades to the others in length of service order.
So basically the newest folk get the worst shifts.

ask your rep for the number of the rep above him if you still don't get money owed, he won't want you going above his head as it makes him look bad

not sure what seniority has to do with missing overtime sheets?
but seniority is still the fairest way in duty picks when they come up, what would you prefer?
ability? who decides that 1 is better than the other?
dom? they decide on their favourites 1st up for those who don't have kids to pick up and do loads of overtime, anyone who stands up for themselves gets the rough estates?
world cup type draw?
rock paper scissors?

i'm yet to hear of a fairer way than seniority,
what if a postie has given 30 years good service with very little sickness, his knees and back ache and suddenly gets thrown off his duty to some younger fitter new starter who then does it an hour quicker and then moans when more is permanently added and quits

It’s called business mate. Seniority, the union and lazy f***s who milk the overtime to the max will strangle the company to death. But he “joe bloggs has been her for blah blah blah....”

Using seniority for the purposes of a repick is a great natural way to allow most older posties to pick a duty that is less physical.

Yes, doesn’t always work where older posties joined late, and yes, doesn’t always work where all jobs in an office happen to be same physically, but it *often* works.

er. . thats the way it's meant to be.

PHG is just a term used for that particular job, such as locker staff.

The other thing you describe is called seniority, it's the best way to allocate duties. in 3 or 4 years time you'll agree.

cookiewise wrote:Still waiting for DOM to actually take my spreadsheet with OT detailed. Hours owed are now around 16. Can I really go above him to get this paid? I went ot him via the union rep but not sure how reliable that route is.
There is no LINO, just a DOM afaik - although this is the first job where I have yet to be introduced to any of the staff.
There is a PHG - nice chap - but the whole seniority thing in my DO is terribly archaic. Is the PHG my LINO?
Not looking forward to tomorrow. Being put on a new route with no training. Could be a long day.
Tell the DOM what time do I ring you if I cant complete because you are bot going over. If he asks why tell him you are not being paid overtime so until you are given whats owed you wont go over. Don't let him bully you and tell him you are not working for nothing. Also have a witness with you
