Wish it was true. I seen a regular ride past me on his bike today at 12. Same as the day before and the weeks before that. Job and jack is still going for a selected few
We have 'RM summertime' at the moment so mail volumes will arguably be decreased so some posties will finish earlier. I'm wondering if the GDPR is having an effect or not as well given that the amount of flats coming through seems to be down. In September we are usually walled under with mail so if that doesn't happen this year we will know GDPR has ****** RM.

I think the cwu have pulled a good one on this part of the agreement , as if all the staff did the job right as set out by r/m and the cwu the company would have to invest in offices , new jobs , etc , or the company would fail big style so no point in getting new contracts etc . so why would members pay £4 a week to not support the cwu on this , as it just wasn't about the 5% pay rise and the shorter working week . ffs this does my head in .

I agree it's liable to not go the way RM thinks and that they will have to put more hours or walks back into DOs. I think they wanted it so they have the data to design delivery windows for tracked items. They must have thought about possible cost cutting opportunities as well though. We have to make sure we don't hand that to them on a plate.

Yep nothings changed weeks now and today Dom says he is happy with initial results! Which is very odd as today at 1130! 2 full timers went past me on way back to office! Yet I still had about 1 hour left, this keeps happening and he won’t change it because people still come in early and finish early and others ft come in on time and finish 1 hour early every day and nothing has been said , so much for job and finishing stopping it’s still alive and kicking in our office despite pda actual being checked!

Already talk in our unit that if you’re taking an extra third out on OT for two hours to help out then you’re in the clear..

What if higher up than the DOM tell him/her to either give them ones finishing an hour early every day an extra hours worth of work or them 1hrs will get added together and removed from the office budget?

A few points on this:

"Some people are still finishing early" - good, the whole point of this procedure is that the company becomes more efficient and reduces the working week, for everyone, to 37hrs over two years. If people wise up and start intentionally going slower then surprise surprise we won't be getting our hourly pay increases.

"Our manager is letting x people get away with finishing an hour early" - This is also a good thing. This year PDA actuals need to show progress to achieve our 38hr reduction. But if the manager goes after ALL hours this year, it leaves no scope for improvement next year to achieve our 37hr reduction (also securing an agreement to further reductions towards 35hr FT agreement)
They are getting away with it now, but when there is nowhere else to save then I assure you it will be looked at to achieve targets.

Ghost overtime. This is an issue with the way the company was previously structured. It will be corrected when staff have to sign in and out digitally. You'll see that in the future, when workloads have been corrected, there will be little overtime on offer. A properly managed unit creates a hungry workforce for overtime, as part time contracts are hard to get by on without the top ups of regular overtime. Currently there are part timers prepping jobs, this has a very limited lifespan as the PDA actuals will take this prep off the part timers and onto the full timers finishing early. The conversations will go like this " PDA says you finish 40 mins early, would you like 40 mins of outdoor delivery or 40 mins of indoor prep". Nobody will take the outdoor.

PDA actuals are a good thing. They will back up your grievances for unachievable workloads. It works both ways, the manager can say "why haven't you taken your lapsing"? You can point to the screen which shows you haven't taken the mick. Or he can send you back out with it if you say you haven't taken a break and don't have time, he will point to where and when you took your break.

If we can get a 35hr week it'll mean a really, really good hourly wage. They'll make you work harder for it, but for 4 hours less of your time.

You do realise that the data will only be available the following day? How will he know when yoj have taken your break on the day? He will only be able to tell you the previous days.

Not always as clear cut as that. Just because soneones going over it doesn't mean the rounds to big! Likewise just because some people can blast a round and finish early it doesn't mean the rounds too small
