   If I assumed you were correct, which you're not, then the DOM choosing to give a day in lieu instead of monetary payment would still be same payment as someone else would have to cover the day in lieu and be paid.

Fed up postie is not incorrect,...YOU are....of course you get paid if you work whilst on annual leave. it has and still does happen in our office week in, week out. my brother was on annual leave a fortnite ago, the DOM phoned him and asked him if he would work Thursday and Friday that week, so he said yes cos he wasn't going away anywhere. he had 17hours 30mins extra on his pay. some of them are in all week of their weeks A/L. They simply wouldn't do it for lieu days, only financial reward. happens all over.

Some what off topic but generally what hours are worked on the Tuesday return after a bank holiday, or is the Dom trying to pull a fast one declaring Wednesday payback if you go over Tues. :Very Happy

Usually the hours for Tuesday and Wednesday are swapped around as Wednesday tends to be like a Tuesday after a bank holiday.

The hours for Tuesday after a BH are TUESDAY'S hours and the hours for Wednesday are WEDNESDAY'S hours. Do not let the DOM swap them around. Swapping the hours around just causes problems. If you start to swap hours around, what happens when you day off falls on the Wednesday for that week? You work a longer Tuesday (Wednesday hours) and is your DOM going to be sympathetic that your average 39 hour week is now going to be longer and you want those extra minutes worked paying back. I doubt it very much, he will just 'that's the way the cookie crumbles' Just say NO. Tuesday is Tuesday hours. Book it or cut off.

Hours shouldn't be swapped around as another reply has said. In our office Tuesday and Wednesday this week following the May Day bank holiday have both been fairly busy days. So we will probably miss out on the quieter Tuesday that we usually have as a result of how the MC staff work. We expect the rest of this week to be fairly busy including Saturday as RM will still want six days worth of work to be dealt with in five days. RM is getting really getting up itself at the moment with the hours instead of days AL allocation system. We need to stand our ground where possible now........"Winter is coming" etc etc.
