wacko74 wrote:Still struggling with this! How many days basic entitlement do you get prior to 15 years service?
(I have tried looking up what should be a perfectly simple answer but can't find it elsewhere)!

Holiday entitlement confusion!

On entry = Four and a half weeks
After 5 years = Four weeks 3.5 days
After 15 years =Five weeks 1 day
After 20 years = Six weeks

then multiply the above by the number of hours per week you are contracted.

Holiday entitlement confusion!

Post by Tiddler »

PSP calculates your A/L entitlement in hours and also does a pro-rata calculation if you pass a leave entitlement trigger part-way through a year. Problem is that I guess most offices still don't use PSP for A/L as the info you get out of it doesn't work at a unit level. For 2018-19 PSP has an annual leave card option which will help but it still doesn't give the unit level info needed, such as an easy to read printout of which staff are off on a particular week.

What Tiddler said is true PSP doesn't understand our leave system ...... we are given hours rather than days off
and if you have Wally weeks you can not have a full 6 weeks holiday entitlement (due to not working whilst your rota off)
but
a postman in our satellite office contacted Sheffield who told them that they have hours rather than days and added rather than subtracted there rota weeks and they have been booking 7 weeks off for the past few years (they also brought holidays)

Oh what a wonderful company to work for
