Our rep is doing the same and I will not do them on principle. If we do them this year they will be back next year under flexibility and they'll say "Well you did them last year"
Give them an inch and they will take 1000 miles

Re: D2D IN CHRISTMAS PRESSURE
It makes no sense to be agreeing contracts for d2ds which in all honesty they must know they can't deliver on.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:http://www.cwu.org.uk/members/action.as ... 7&catid=21
.....When reports were received that contracts had been agreed with customers involving deliveries to take place from Monday,10th December, we contacted Royal Mail’s national manager for Door to Door who indicated that the only weeks which had been blocked off for Door to Door are weeks commencing 17th, 24th and 31st December.......................
How many of you have completed yours for last week(3rd December)? I've done about ½.
Next week I have 3 one of which has pens in.
Given the amount of mail (not to mention the 'odd ball' size cards) we get at this time of year do we really need any of this nonsense.

The stupid manager we've got for our delivery side said we dont have an option and that our area rep has got us an extra 20%for doing them so i said well why dont you tell him to come and deliver them as we sure dont need it and she then spouted we have to do them even though we have told them its in the agreement we dont have them on christmas pressure so thanks to our area rep we have no way off getting rid of them what a twat.

Bob Gibson was looking at trying to get an extra payment from RM as an incentive for us to do them, so that is probably what that 20% extra is. However, despite what your area rep may say, there is still a national agreement which says that the last D2Ds will be delivered the first full week in December and will start again the first full week in January. If you have a unit rep he should have a copy of the latest LTB concerning D2Ds and should show it to your DOM. There's nothing they can do about it, they agreed it!bandit650 wrote:The stupid manager we've got for our delivery side said we dont have an option and that our area rep has got us an extra 20%for doing them so i said well why dont you tell him to come and deliver them as we sure dont need it and she then spouted we have to do them even though we have told them its in the agreement we dont have them on christmas pressure so thanks to our area rep we have no way off getting rid of them what a twat.

Well said!dvbuk55 wrote:B*llocks obviously but once again a sure sign that the agreement is codswallop - RM have no intention of "a new understanding and respect for the CWU reps and blah blah blah........." They aren't interested in negotiation only dictation - they will do whatever they want - some areas will do it and some won't.bandit650 wrote:We got told that Royal Mail did a survey and that 95%of staff had said that they wanted to carry on with the delivery of D2D leaflets IMO i think they are telling porkie pies because i have not found anyone that has taken part in the survey anyone on here taken part?
