But are they coming back up to ~90mins early because they are not taking any breaks, delivering with weight on shoulder (not using LWTs when they should and locking up HCTs to do loops), flicking through their working bundle to get mail for the next address while walking (risking a trip, they should be standing still)? Even on a typical Tuesday I'd expect to make at least 20mins by looping by pouch and filtering on the move.

If they are making time by not following the rules as laid out by RM on how deliveries should be done, there is something very wrong with the planners' idea of how big the outdoor side of the duty should be, in addition to any indoor work they do.

No, they shouldn't be doing it, they should be taking paid breaks, filtering while stationary and only using a pouch for sections with blocks of flats. They should be doing the job as per spec and demonstrating most duties are too big. But a vast majority of OPGs don't want the daily agro of proving a point that puts a target on their back every single working day.

I think any Posties that are trying to make the system work "Properly" face this kind of problem. Why these idiots can no see further than their noses is beyond me. They should realise that RM will be looking for savings every year, and if they are coming back early they'll be making a Target of themselves for some more work. Although there always seem to be some duties that get away with it. :arrrghhh

I keep telling colleagues that they've got to try and make their duty reflect to true amount of time it "Should" take. I'd like to push for "Everyone" to take 20 mins Meal Relief before we even leave the office. I know some DOs that do it. It would immediately account for approx 7 hours a day, but I know if it was put to the vote the "Runners" wouldn't vote it in. :d'oh!
