Get rid of the frames, flats come with the sequence and any manual letters or small packets are added "on the bench", of course marking for large packets and specials as needed.

I don't think that every single duty will be a van duty. There are a few town duties at our depot that use (and will probably always use) a hct. And actually they get more revenue via business mail.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Its will be the usual methods RM use to reduce headcount

They'll offer VR to some.
They'll dismiss others who fall foul of the Conduct Code.
They'll put them on HCT or indoor Duties
They'll offer transfers to Mail Centres.
They may offer assistance to pass a driving test. (Unlikely)
They may even train people up (extremely unlikely)
In the end, they could go down the Compulsory Redundancy route but the chance of this is pretty slim because the Union and RM have an agreement against them, and if the business went against it, it would be an outright declaration of war.

In a compulsory redundancy situation would those with the least seniority be first to go?

Transferring walks to HCTs would be hilarious for our office as DOM has put majority of HCT walks into van shares at the beginning of the year.

All bets would be off as it would be an un-agreed executive action. Essentially they could make anyone redundant, or any precept as long as it was legal and they "consulted" the employees.

All walks that that have part of the duty within 1 mile of the depot should by HCT duties, or so I thought.

However, we have some oddities at my depot, where some nearby duties are being done by van. Makes no sense to me, all that money spent on a vehicle and ongoing costs, when a HCT will cost peanuts in comparison and maybe add 10-20 minutes tops to the delivery span (maybe less if vans get stopped at traffic lights).

What is a bench and how do u add parcels and manual without a frame?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
