for people on permanent contracts i think this is a superb suggestion. However people who are still on temporary contracts probably dont have the luxury of taking this approach. Hopefully the OP managed to get on a different duty, it was worth speaking up about that delivery sounds horrendous !

Glad your DOM is willing to help you out. Ive been in the royal mail game now 8 years. 3 years being moved about, then 4 years on a huge 'relief' duty that nobody wanted. Its funny how the relief duties end up bigger than the full timers duties eh!?

Now I've transfered to a delivery office closer to home this year I'm on the worst duty in the place with new starts less than 6 months in Royal Mail on decent run's getting rotation day off & my DOM treating me like I'm on probation! :mad

But hey its a great career & well paid as long as your happy to have knee & hip replacements in your 40s!

Yes it is common.they will give you the worst shift cause they know by n large you won't complain cause you're just in the door.when you do bring concerns about the size of the shift they'll make you feel like your the problem. Royal mail don't solve problems they pass them on till someone puts up with it and they get lumped with it. Say you want it tested speak to union and folk on here .but get used to unfair treatment in this job it's rife.

Yep it's true they just pass the problems to the bottom and hope that you'll accept it. There are poor sods in my office who always get asked (bullied) into doing extra, because they always say yes. If you give them an inch they'll take a mile.

After what you have said I am gonna go to A&E tomorrow to have it looked at. I injured this foot before in January from falling off a bike, it was just a sprain but maybe the exercise is too much for it right now.
How's it going? Are you still with us?
