It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Ours today was a new template for packet sorting.
DOM had this yellow metal thing with holes cut out and if a packet fits through this thing then you take it out on the walk with you, if it doesn't then it goes with a driver.
This thing was very big, big enough to get a shoebox through, one lad got his head through it.
How they expect us to carry all these large packets I don't know.
The drivers were laughing, they won't be laughing when their parcel duties go in the name of efficiency.

It's a good job he could get his head through it the driver wouldn't be happy carrying his head in the van all day!.Spartacus wrote:Ours today was a new template for packet sorting.

Today's WTL....main points from our DOM (JUNIOR management)
1......Royal Mail is in dire straights (big aww from the boys)
2......Its a FANTASTIC pay deal
3......You've gotta vote yes,or your job will be under severe threat.
4......If you refused to use your car during the current campaign
you cannot ever use it again....(those that did can carry on).
5.....You will be working late into the afternoon covering your sick buddies...hours will be made back on light Tuesdays etc...
If the last point is true.....How could our UNION AGREE to this??
Not only will overtime be compulsory....But we will not be PAID for it!!!
Is this 1842 again or what??.......It's a NO vote from me.
