Firstly, hello, didn't even know this place existed!

Tax question. I'm assuming you have to fill out a separate form for each years claims from previous years?
I'm a 1060. Heard whispers of this but didn't know what it paid out.

So you claim the tax relief on a £60/120 so over 4years the amount will be significantly lower that you get as an actual rebate?

claiming £60 tax relief will get you approx £12 per year, £120 will get you £24 per year, better in your pocket than the government's and it's the exact same amount as you would have got if you had got it on your tax code at the time

Please don't forget the married couples allowance, where a lower earner/non working partner can transfer some of their tax allowance to a higher earner.
worth around £212 a year including this year.

Do it online with the .Gov website, search Married couples allowance, fill in the online form (NI Numbers required) all done within 2 weeks.
Trust Royal Mail? God help us all.....

This is actually the next guide i was going to do next month, its not as time sensitive as the uniform tax allowance as the tax transfer allowance has only been out since this year so cant claim back for previous tax years, but yeah its good advice and extra cash in our pockets rather than the governments

Thanks zx135 for this.

Anybody have a date when this allowance was introduced to RM? I've claimed back previous 4 years off HMRC, but what chance is there of claiming the other years off of RM themselves?
Anybody had any experience with this situation?

Am I right in saying that this can be done anytime and is not an end of tax year panic or else thing?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
