And get done for willful delay, yeah nice one.

I don't really see the problem here as you shuold be prepping them yourself each day so overall you're doing less work.

Would love it if somebody prepped all mine every week. I also only take them where I'm already going. Hate going to an address with just d2d. Also easier to actually get through letterbox with mail attached.

Not sure what your duty is like but on the majority of the duties in my DO 'take where you are going' isn't a viable option if every single D2D is in as you are hitting probably around 90% of the houses per day on the majority of them.

Personally, if it was me, I'd tell the manager can you not have all the D2D's prepped into the frame for me as I only want to do 20% per day & with them in it makes prepping & tying the frame up more tedious because you've to separate them. If he gave me some non-complaint excuse as he did with you, I'd remove 80% from the frame myself, rubber band them & put them in a tray(s) under the frame taking 20% or whatever I am completing as each day comes.

As far as I'm aware you can't get in trouble for taking that approach as you don't have to have them all in 1 day nor is there any rule, as far as I'm aware, that they must be prepped into the frame..

Thanks for the replies. Its the phg who is putting them in when they don't have anything else to do. I wouldnt mind if they just put in a row, but the whole frame is way too excessive, especially when you arent even on that round for the rest of the week.

Yeah I can see how annoying it is trying to prep a fitting that's full of d2ds but having said that if you just deliver where you're going surely most of them will be gone by Wednesday, leaving the rest of the week d2d free, tbh disregarding the initial prepping issue I'd quite like it if someone put all mine in for me on Monday.

As it sounds you are day off cover, does this arrangement not balance itself out over a few weeks, or do you always cover Mondays? My day off cover only covers Mondays once every 3 weeks.

There is currently no national agreement on how D2D gets delivered, as far as I know, practices vary massively frame to frame and even OPG to OPG. However, there are some trials going on (around Bristol?) where depots are trying some "radical" approaches, such as 100% prep of D2Ds on Mondays and then take them where you have other letters.

At the moment, I have a simple arrangement with my day off cover, approx. one-sixth prepped and delivered per day (unless it is a bank holiday week). It splits the indoor aspect equally and does not create the potentially awkward "Saturday legs" scenario, where I need overtime or cut off Mon-Fri and then magically finish early on a Saturday, with no D2D to prep and no cold-calling just with D2Ds (which could easily save 30mins or more).

I just want to deliver 20% a day which is what I am doing but it means I have to seperate the letters from the D2D, thus prep takes longer and I'm getting out later than I should be. Told manager I didnt like it and he said just take them where you're going (yeah good one, that means I'm delivering more than 20%). The rest of the office get left alone, probably because they all come in early on mon/tues to shove them all in and by midweek most of them are gone. Fair enough if thats how you want to do them but I don't. Does anyone else have this problem? What can I do to stop them putting them all in?

I would love it if my D2Ds were thrown in for me on Monday

on light duties used to do the D2D's in peoples frames for the ones that don't come in early  to try save on O/T payments
