It's a matter of principle now. Most of us only do what is humanly possible in any given working day. But that doesn't prevent us from getting angry and frustrated at these increases in workload. A little bit of respect from both management and union wouldn't go amiss.
Anyone would think we had f**k all to do.

Yeh, well a little bit of respect from management is well overdue with additional workload and expected service with delivery to neighbour etc. As for uncle Bob, a visit to the front line of delivery is long overdue. A simple fair method of dealing with bullying should be HIS main priority rather than allow it to continue unchallenged. To the previous poster about growing a pair, ! that is good advice to people who can handle intimidation. What I expect from Bob Gibson is LEADERSHIP, he is well aware of the on-going problem. Perhaps we need to tell HIM to grow a pair and stand up for his members, we have been treated like s..t by RM management for too long !!!!!

Slinder, I agree with what you are saying! You talk the talk and I agree that our colleagues let many staff down by not showing a united front. Too many people buckle under pressure and unfortunately do not have the same strong backbone as you have. To that end, they are left defenceless to strong over bearing management who run amock with their style of management, unchallenged. Reps in those DO,s need backing from area and senior Union leaders. It is going on, they now it's going on and appear to be burying their heads in the sand. I firmly believe that the pendulum, for some strange reason, has swung in favour of RM too much, to the detriment of delivery staff. On the face of things they should not be getting away with their treatment of delivery staff, if we stood our ground on agreements like delivery methods, but things are out of control and need addressing by Bob Gibson. To that end the union are at fault, guidance is required and should not be left for a few individuals - like you I suspect - to continually stick their heads over the parapet. I know from experience, they get left to fight a lonely battle and incur even more intimidation for trying to defend terms that were agreed by RM & the union, but are being flaunted - openly by RM and unchallenged. Rant over.
