Re: voluntary redundancy
I ways thought that when you get your VR letter it gave you the use of a solicitor to check that everything was ok and above board, I have just had mine and no mention of a solicitor to check things over, it also says that once you sign " It is full and final settlement of any claims that you may have against RMG arising out of your employment, any one know is this right?

Re: voluntary redundancy
Unlikely on deliveries I'd have thought unless there is a major change in delivery methods such as dropping Saturday deliveries.
Mail centres, I'm not so sure.

Re: voluntary redundancy
I recently came across a House of Commons Select Committee document online concerning the RM Statutory Pension Scheme, which said that in the year 2014/15 they’d put about £192 million aside to pay for early retirements/redundancy. But they have no plans to put aside any money during the 2015/16 tax year.Postie45 wrote:does anyone know if RM is planning on wholescale offerings of VR at any point ?
Add that to the fact that Whistl are no more and so the expected wholesale loss of letters business isn’t going to happen, at least for the time being, I think the answer to your question is probably no.

Re: voluntary redundancy
104 weeks is the maximum for VR payment, if the person has at least 19 years' service and is under 55.robbiejob47 wrote:Hi

If you are over 55 and not receiving your RM pension, you would get your pension paid immediately (slightly enhanced) plus 26 weeks VR payment.
