Generally, all of Monday's and Tuesday's are put in the frame at the start of Tuesday after the holiday and they are only taken for where there is mail that day, the rest get covered during the week, or finally taken on Friday for those places with still no mail. (at our place all our D2Ds are done Mon to Fri usually, none on a Sat). This seems fair to all - there's extra prep for the person on the Tuesday but no extra delivery points which would only have had D2D on that day.
it sounds like someone puts them in the frame for you but in our office we have to collate and throw them in ourselves.

We do ours Monday to Friday and on bank holiday weeks the managers like us to do Monday and Tuesdays on Tuesday. However I have a very large frame and already do a lot on both days so I do Mondays lot on Saturday and it really pisses them off cos they know I'll be cutting off Saturday.

Sounds like? That's not the case, sorry I was not clearer. It's an extra 15 mins or so of prep and that is usually got back by not going to any 'empty' letterboxes that day.

It's only just around 3% more a day for a bank holiday week. Not sure that's going to make a massive problem over the week. Most will throw them all in Tuesday morning anyway, before their starting time.

There are no "rules" for D2D, only resourcing guidelines.
It makes far more sense from both our point of view and management's to spread the excess workload from a bank holiday over the remaining 5 days however the same old fallback position takes precedent...If you have time to do it inside your contracted hours.....

These things should be discussed and agreed at the weekly resourcing meeting at least two weeks before the bank holiday.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
