To The Royal Mail Snoops & Spies Who Lurk On Here

We had an accident a few weeks ago, where a trailer door fell, and hit the top cage of a 2 stack as one of my collegues was driving onto it on a Scud. The top cage was nocked off, and ended up impaled on the Cage Guard. If she hadn't ducked as quickly as she did, it would have hit her on the head. As it was, she got away with bruising, as the Guard absorbed most of the impact.

Because she didn't require any treatment. The manager insisted that it should go in the Near Miss Book, which I thought was completely wrong (I saw the accident happen), and informed him that it should have gone in the Accident Book (when did they put it on computer? no-one told us!!!!!). When he told me that he couldn't as there were no injuries, I asked my H&S Rep to put him right. But he told me that there was nothing he could do about it.

I've been on holiday for the last 2 weeks, and have done a bit of research. It turns out that they were both wrong! It's too late to put the incident above in the Accident Book, Computer Records, or whatever. But believe me. If there's another accident that they try to avoid recording properly I WILL GET ON TO HSE PERSONALLY!!!!! You have my word on that!

Have you or your female colleague ever considered writing directly to our CWU National Health, Safety and Environment Officer (Dave Joyce) at CWU HQ with all the relevant facts as they relate to the accident and ask him to investigate why it wasn't recorded by the manager under the new ERICA system.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have a word with her tomorrow, and if she is interested in taking it further, We'll send him an Email. Otherwise, I'll send him one asking him to make sure that something is done to ensure that accidents are reported properly at NWRDC in the future.

Its an incident and should be recorded as such and if you want somthing recorded as an accident then go to local DSS office and inform them about what happened and that RM are refusing to put into the book light the touch paper and stand back once the DSS get involved they s***t themselves as the H&S will turn up to inspect we did it at our office.if you ever have a problem at getting the govners to do thier job then tell them your go to the DSS and register the accident and make sure you do dont bluff.

You can also have deliberate accidents and you don't just threaten to report it , that's letting people off the hook ,ACT LIKE A AMATEUR &YOU WILL BE TREATED LIKE A AMATEUR , take it outside the PO as mentioned above . Not everyone is protected , there's ways & means.

There's orders from high that noone gives RM any H&S problems as they've been threatened with a HSE investigation .
The insurance claims manager said he'd never heard so much rubbish about accidents becoming incidents in years.

I'm inclined to be suspicious of someone who mentions a infamous Hellmail Propoganda Plant & uses the same tactics .

Pity that didn't happen here. I would have fought her case for her. The way the incident was handled is disgusting. Injuries or not, that goes into the accident book, straightaway.

As for posting negative things about Royal Mail? Puh! The truth hurts, and we leave, thankfully in a country where there still is some semblance of freedom of speech - hence my signature.
