Then hermes comes along with a large parcel someone paid £4 postage for and they sign his touch screen mobile sized pda instantly , and get an email.
We're so in the dark ages it's embarrassing. Pay less managers , less bonuses and invest in the front line postmen. Rant over sorry it's been a wet day.
So frustrated with that brick of shite, it went from 85% to critical 14% in less than 20 mins of leaving the office today. Had to reboot the effer constantly. It is a joke that they rely on this piece of crap. Have to put most tracked in manually..and they print the item code so small I cant see it.. :arrrghhh

Any idiot (me included) could have told RM that they were going to lose out on medium sized packets and parcels business, this is the second backward step on sizes/prices, I bet the tw*ts 'up top' still get their bonuses.
I haven't missed not delivering 'em though.

I'm having trouble with this one, isn't it a bit like the butcher slashing the price of turkeys and the farmer selling Xmas trees at half price but only for December.

Price of sending a parcel reduced by about a 1/3rd so you've got to shift 50% more to make the same profit, this sites already full of folk saying they haven't got time to do their walk so if RM are planning to "pile it high and sell it cheap" how's that going to work when the first thing Dom says when you say you can't complete is ok leave your parcels.

Why the panic and worry on this:
Under the promotion, all stamped Second Class Small Parcels weighing up to 2kg will cost the same at £2.80. Previously, there were separate prices for 0-1kg and 1-2kg parcels. This means a saving of £1 on Second-Class Small Parcels weighing between 1kg and 2kg at Post Offices or through our online postage.
Its only on 2nd class parcels, and its for a fairly minor weight step of 1 - 2 kg. Its such a small "window" of price/size/service I really cant see this affecting us on the front line much. Its a sales gimmick aimed at generating a feel good aura round the brand. If its successful well have more traffic, which is hardly a shock at Christmas. Ultimately you'll still be paid the same rate if you work your hours, or you'll be paid for working over. Use your trolleys/vans and work at a reasonable pace. Let the managers sweat the extra work and reap the reward for failing to plan.
