Re: 1 in 4 Sats off
Our office is still 1 in 6. For the reserves its nearer 1 in 12! Short staffed like so many offices and its the reserves that lose out again. Union rep seems powerless to remedy this. Anybody had similar problem and how did you manage to resolve it?...if you did.

I wasn't referring to the union rep employing more staff. It is frustrating how RM seem to consistantly ignore nationally negotiated agreements and the union seem to be able do little about it.General Mannerheim wrote:Not really up to your rep to employ more staffSergeant Blast wrote:Our office is still 1 in 6. Re: 1 in 4 Sats off
The 2010 agreement implies that the majority will have 1 in 4 Saturdays off, including reserves.
It would be worth speaking with your local union rep to establish what the term 'majority' means for your local office as these may have been negotiated and expanded on following the 2010 agreement.
if 1 in 4 has been has been part implemented within your office (i.e. one particular group of employees receives Saturdays off, while others don't), it would be worth asking how this was determined. Have any particular groups of employees been disadvantaged because of this? Could it be that Senior employees have been given Saturdays off while those with less service have lost out? - in which case could be viewed as age discrimination and your Rep should be hot on the Equality Act 2010.
My belief is that 1 in 4 was a minimum for all colleagues and seems highly unfair that each office is treated differently. The agreement stands for all, not some!

it was based on national figures, so each offices is allowed to be treated differently as long as over the full uk the majority get 1 in 4

Re: 1 in 4 Sats off
We went in three years ago half the office couldn't see beyond what they have always done so stayed at a 1 in 6 situation. The other half, after much aggro finally settled on 2 in 6. Now guess what? Most of the others want to move to 2-6 whilst the company are trying all sorts of tricks to get rid of them. Not even bothering to resource sat only contracts or SA on Saturdays to cover walks with Sat rest days. Lets not forget its all about partnership and working together for growth..............my arse it is!
