Same in our office. Number of staff want it but silence from managers.
The silence from managers is due to 1 thing. They ALWAYS go 1st m8. ALWAYS.

You can google "compulsory redundancy" and there is a government site that allows you to calculate what you could receive if you were simply made redundant.
And here is a link:
https://www.gov.uk/calculate-your-redundancy-pay" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Compare it to your EVR offer.
My statutory redundancy pay at current age(mid forties)would be based on 22.5 weeks pay compared to the maximum 104 weeks pay with VR via the MTSF agreement. In money terms it would be about £35,000 less.

Nobody knows what will happen but you have to ask yourself if the shareholders are going to be prepared to see such generous payoffs, especially if the share price is still falling.
Totally agree!
There is always the temptation of a nice pot of money and people tend to be blinded by the ££££’s and to make rash decisions, leaving them in a worse position than before.
But if you have the chance to take VR and taking it is right for you considering your age, job prospects, financial position, etc then now could be a good time.

I think the problem with EVR, it will help you to paid off any bills and be debt free, and buy a thing or two and be able to enjoy dancing better without tired legs or leaving earlier for work on Saturday, and invest into future, but what sort of job are there to get on full time salary, pensions, and offer flextime and work with lot of lovely ladies and offer job security. I don't know but due to social networking it should be a lot easier to get another job before social networking.

Conduct code people out of a job - it would be easy at our DO with all the cutting every corner possible to finish early.

:sad: Under the circumstances, I would take the money. If they can't reducethe workforce this way, they will start another' cull' --a new job might be hard to come by, but not impossible. The cold hard fact is that R.M as we know it, is being wound down, and most jobs wil become temporary ,part time or causal in nature.
