Working 2hrs o/t but asking to be paid for 4hrs. Does anybody do this in good conscience? Seems a bit like extortion. As a result manager being less likely to choose you in future?

wouldn't it be better if people clocked in and out at their start/finish times ? this would ensure no early (unpaid) starters. and those "runners" would be no better off. and those who do the job properly would get the overtime as and when it became available

No incentive, management may not get it covered.
