They may or may not disappear.
The more overtime you have in the system the fewer jobs (or shorter hour contracts) you have.
Some units have opted for hybrid duties (delivery/collection) to protect jobs whereas some have kept SA because there was little or no appetite for the hybrid duties.
Whether they stay or go should be down to your office vote and not the dictate of your DOM.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Advice Help and information please.
ty kind sir, basically our office manager has said to some of the older guys that their SA's will disappear under delivery methods even though some of these gentleman have had these SA's for some years. One of my friends claims that it states in an agreement that nobody will lose any earnings under delivery methods? The manager says it all goes and nobody can do anything about it. Very stressful day today.clashcityrocker wrote:They may or may not disappear.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We are all standing firm on these issues which are arising at our office, I'm just doing my bit for the cause and trying to gather information which will help our office out. As for reps? Page 61 of the Business Transformation 2010 agreement says:
I don't see how that could be construed as "no more SA" - unless you actually wanted this to happen in your revision (e.g. to make part-time duties up to full-time by incorporating the SA hours) but that would be something you voted on rather than have it imposed on youAdditional Local Earnings Opportunities
Royal Mail and CWU agree that excessive amounts of overtime working are not conducive to an appropriate work/life balance. This has been recognised by prioritising higher basic pay over recent years.
Within this we also agree the importance of taking into account the aspirations and needs of individual employees for reasonable and regular additional earnings opportunities. As part of local revision activity the opportunity for Scheduled Attendance and overtime will be a key consideration. Such opportunities will need to reflect overall workload and meet service requirements. Local revision proposals should consider how innovative attendance patterns and the overall resourcing mix can be constructed to support different employee needs.

The point of me mentioning London is because there's thousands and thousands of postal workers who work in and around London, we are a tiny little office set in rural England, we see more cows and sheep everyday than people. As the delivery methods is going nationwide I personally would like my office too get the same sort of agreement/deal as our fellow worker in major towns and cities. I wasn't being rude I promise and sorry if you think I was. ty

Re: Advice Help and information please.
Hi, As promised the rep from our branch turned up today. Unfortunately he slipped as he got out of his car and was driven over 50 miles to the local hospital with a possible broken ankle. Hopefully he will be ok
