I've seen TNT workers in London wearing tshirts with 'POSTIE' emblazoned across the front with big capital letters. They look like clowns dressed in orange. Also out on delivery on a Sunday... in Docklands, East London of all places. Didn't even know they covered deliveries there :hmmmm

You can only feel sorry for them. Crap pay, crap contracts, no union. They ought to band together and sort themselves out. Surely if they organized their own union and took action for better conditions, we'd all be better off in the long run too. It makes sense really.

They do have their own "Union" its called the Community Union. http://www.community-tu.org/who-we-are/ ... unity.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not your oldest (formed 2004) or the best organised or most militant group though.
Community was formed by the merger of the Iron and Steel Trades Confederation (ISTC) and the National Union of Knitwear, Footwear and Apparel Trades (KFAT).
although another Union, the National Union of Domestic Appliance and General Operatives (NUDAGO),has expressed an interest in amalgamating with them.

At least they'll be warm on any winter picket line though :oops: :oops:

From the Community website.

Two Unions fighting for Postal workers conditions should increase standards across the board. The only benefit it seems of an open to all delivery market.

Remember guys we are the workers. RM or TNT - we are all fighting the man, and his degrading working conditions.
