Doubt they wanted in Canada either if given the choice. She said the share deal was a generous deal, the pay deal is the best ever and very competitive, no disruption (strike) in service is attached to all deals, the public don't own RM the government do, RM pay 12% interest on all money borrowed from government and any investors return will be less than this, she doesn't know why we are heading to dispute, in 10 years time we will look back and say it was a positive thing and she wants to build a new culture (regarding management bullying) but this will take time.
I take it you believe her?

Sorry, I seem to be unable to see the bit where I said I believed what she said. Care to point it out?

She is nothing more than what pretty much all DOMs are now ie glorified accountants, with no postal experience, who have figures to hit, in order to trigger bonuses. They have no real set method for achieving this other than the old - give less staff more work to do - approach which is already stretched as thin as it will go. Anyone seriously believing anything these people say is deluded. Our office manager wanders around like a zombie for 15 minutes tops, before disappearing back into his office and closing the door, seemingly oblivious of the mayhem surrounding him. And that's pretty much his interaction with the workforce. Couldn't give a toss.

So where does the aftermath of this meeting leave us? We seem to be in a sort of limbo now waiting for the ballot papers, then waiting for the result, then waiting for the strike dates, should it come to that. In the meantime the RM privatisation train steams ahead whilst the CWU looks like a rabbit trapped in the headlights, :cuppa

Dvbuk you accuse the union of dithering whilst privatisation steams ahead. Well nothing was said yesterday by the Government or Royal Mail which announced the date for the prespectous which has to be announced prior to any sell off.

Therefore you could also accuse Royal Mail are talking a about the privatisation of Royal Mail but not announcing a date.

At least the CWU will announce the Ballot next week.

she wants to build a new culture (regarding management bullying) but this will take time.

no it does not take time.

it suits their plans so they wont deal with it.

bullying can be stamped out instantly..........she only has to tell the worms to stop otherwise they will be sacked ....how simple is that.

They could try following up on complaints/grievances about B&H, instead of ignoring them.
Which appears to be company policy at the moment (and for the last 8 years or more).
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.
