mail sort on Saturday's

Saturday has been a normal working day since our P&L revision over two years ago, although duties start and finish 15 minutes earlier. Only mail that stays in is for businesses that are closed on a Saturday. We do lapsing on it if it fits and door to door items as well. Before that, we did have an agreement to hold mailsort 3 items back but most people took them to avoid a bad Monday. No one goes in now expecting an easy Saturday but at least our managers try to get us out earlier.

The MS3 arrives in MCs the day before it's due for delivery (so say it was due for delivery on a Thursday it would arrive at the MC on the Wednesday), in any case ALL mail once it reaches the inward MC is 1st class so you're just failing live mail.

RM would probably consider not taking out the mailsort to be streaming, which isn't allowed, why give RM the rope to hang you by the next time they're trying to cut hours out?

??? i was under the impression that all d.o.s were clear office policy. we,ve had to take everything out for the last 3 years.,,,,,mailsort you say? everything goes except saturday retentions. even d2ds. its dole money otherwise. welcome to park and poop.

The clear office policy has been in for years, all mail is now live revision or not - hope your DOM doesn't get a visit from the auditor one Saturday, he may find he has some explaining to do.

Back in the day I remember being on rural and taking the Rebate where I was going during the week. And, we used to get it in one bag and I never worked past twelve...blah...blah...blah

We do. Been doing it awhile now but we've not had a revision. Sucks but hey ho. Saves doing it all Monday I guess. :-/

Us too, at least 10 years. We don't get out of the office or finish any earlier than the rest of the week on Saturdays either.
