I presume if you have a majority of f/t staff and the p/t staff are the newest through the door, if you start insisting on 1 p/t with 1 f/t then the p/t get duties that their seniority wouldn't have got them and f/t staff get floaters/reserves duties?hampshireman wrote:Just curious. Why does having an FT with a PT 'balls things up'?dazzlin72 wrote:Goal posts will be moved like at our office, first it was a straightforward driver, & non driver, but then after the first few picks they then said we also would then have to have FT with PT, which totally balls's things up.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Re: revison goes live monday
We cover three postcode areas, one of them is rural. The rural started theirs April 2012, half the town then started in August 2012 and then the rest of the office started in January this year. There should of been a two week gap between all of them meaning the whole office should of started in the space of a month, it turned out to be nine months. There are just over twenty rural walks and about eighty town, about sixty of these are shared vans.
I was in the last change. My walk had not changed that much, 615 drops. So I am on the walk all the time. The person I share a van with (I am the driver) is in the same position, his walk has not changed that much, about 590 drops, so he is on the same walk all the time. Now, we where just lumped together, you know how it works, but we get on really well together so work is not so bad. If you can laugh at the same things and take the piss out of each other in a good natured way then that's half the battle. The two people next to us have a lot smaller walks and they have no idea how to work together, they don't even like each other, and cut out every day when even I can see how small walks they have.
As for a resign/repack, well we are still waiting. we should of had it at Easter but it got put off. Now a changed of DOM who won't talk to any of us, not even a good morning. It's not mentioned now, so you have a few senior people who are spare and juniors who are in fixed duties of which some of those duties are not bad at all.
So, you know your start time/finish time, just do your job as best you can and hopefully you will end up in a shared van with somebody you get on with.

It's fine bein senior driver but is there any staff with more senior years in who will come out the wood work and put in for any driving duties that arise.interesting wrote:We go live in six weeks
Not sure what to expect , although I'm sure it won't be great
I'm the senior driver , weather that helps me or not I'm not sure

Re: revison goes live monday
Three weeks 'til our revision starts, should have started yesterday but planners and bosses are on hols. (Excellent bit of planning that)
No news as to who's got which walks or increased hours or three day weeks. Playing it all pretty close to their chests.

The three above me
One does not drive ( took his small van test , but can't drive the bigger vans )
One lost his license through health issues
And the other one hates driving ( but I suppose anything is possible )
